Just when you think it cannot get any worse, it does. This week has been unbelievable.
The anger that most of us felt when we found out that this pResident thought he could shut out the GREATEST GENERATION from their OWN long-deserved memorial was what can only be called RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION!
A whole nation is in disbelief at the long list of abuses against our founders, against our founding documents, against our military, and against our way of life. BUT TO AB– USE THE ELDER GENERATION, the one who went to war against the same tyranny we see in the White House?
Mr. Charles Grey from Arkansas at Memorial today. Mr. Grey was the head navigator for the 305th Bomb Group and completed 30 successful missions over Europe with 2 missions directly into Berlin targeting Hitlers headquarters. Talk about tough, this man checked himself out of the hospital last night to make this trip today! The Guardians say they are having a hard time keeping his blood Oxygen level at only 80% but he said he wasn’t going to miss this.
THAT IS A BRIDGE TOO FAR.
Those WWII Vets deserved red carpet — and the way they were treated make most red-blooded Americans SEE RED.
This is all meant to discourage and demean, but we do not SIT AND TAKE IT. This small man that sits in the Oval Office with his feet on the desk, this small man who loves to poke the sleeping GIANT, has no IDEA what he’s asking for.
Americans find ways around things and through things, and this small man has found a way to unite us that cuts across every single demographic there is, and we are learning that UNITED WE STAND.

METUCHEN, NJ – Mayor Steve Lonegan, the Republican candidate for the United State Senate, praised House Republicans and veterans who removed the barriers which the Obama administration used to close several memorials on the Mall in Washington D.C., including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the National WWII Memorial.

“President Obama and his Congressional lackeys need to stop playing politics. They need to compromise with Republicans by supporting a one-year delay before implementing Obamacare,” added Lonegan.
“My opponent, Cory Booker, is running to be another Obama rubber-stamp who thinks that compromise means adopting his radical, left-wing beliefs,” Lonegan said. “New Jersey voters are going to stop him.
“If New Jersey voters choose to send me to the United States Senate, my election will send an instant signal to President Obama and everyone in Congress that the American people don’t want his health care plan, and that it is the President who needs to compromise.”
The election is in two weeks on Wednesday, October 16th.
Gold Star Mother’s Day Commemoration – September 29
On Sunday, September 29, 2013 our Nation honors our Gold Star Mothers and families. The Presidential Proclamation in 2011 commemorating this day pronounces, “As members of a grateful Nation, we owe a debt we can never repay, but hold this sacred obligation forever in our hearts, minds, and actions. We honor their sacrifice, and stand with our service members, military families, and Gold Star families as they have stood for us.” The American Legion Post 53 and Ridgewood NJ’s Blue Star Families are committed to bringing awareness to our community and to commemorate the sacrifices these mothers and their families have made for our Country.
In the aftermath of World War I, Washington D.C. resident Grace Darling Seibold formed an organization called Gold Star Mothers to support the moms who had lost sons and daughters to the war. Grace’s son, First Lieutenant George Vaughn Seibold, was an aviator killed in combat over France in 1918. In 1928, the small D.C.-based group decided to nationalize its efforts. In 1936, a joint congressional resolution established the last Sunday in September as Gold Star Mother’s Day. The Gold Star Mothers grew from a support group of 60 women to today’s extensive nationwide network with tens of thousands of members and hundreds of local chapters.
In Ridgewood, NJ we again will commemorate Gold Star Mother’s Day with an event on Sunday, September 29th at Van Neste Park. There will be a ceremony at 7:00 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. and the luminaries will be lit from 7 – 9 p.m. to honor Gold Star Mothers and their families, but in addition, the goal is to see thousands of other luminaries lit throughout Ridgewood and other towns on September 29th to honor the Gold Star Mothers and families!
Everyone can stand together in honoring the Gold Star Mothers and families by helping to raise awareness through:
• talking to your family, friends, and neighbors about the event;
• joining us at Van Neste Park; and,

Ridgewood school district delays Collaboration Days

The district is putting the brakes on an earlier plan to have delayed openings at every Ridgewood school once a month for teacher collaboration time.

The implementation of “Collaboration Days” for teachers in grades K-8 will not start until the 2014-15 school year, said Superintendent Daniel Fishbein in a letter sent to parents this week.
The decision to postpone the district-wide installment of Collaboration Days – which have taken place at Ridgewood High School (RHS) since the end of the 2011-2012 school year and will continue this year – was made to give parents more time to prepare for the change, the superintendent said.
Fishbein noted that he intended to get parents the information before they found out through other means.

Collapse of American Influence Recalls Disintegration of Soviet Union, Fall of France

Not since the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991, and prior to that the fall of France in 1940, has there been so swift an erosion of the world influence of a Great Power as we are witnessing with the United States.
The Soviet Union crumbled jurisdictionally: In 1990-1991, one country became the 16 formerly constituent republics of that country, and except perhaps for Belarus, none of them show much disposition to return to the Russian fold into which they had been gathered, almost always by brute force, over the previous 300 years.
The cataclysmic decline of France, of course, was the result of being overrun by Nazi Germany in 1940. And while it took until the return of de Gaulle in 1958 and the establishment of the Fifth Republic with durable governments and a serious currency, and the end of the Algerian War in 1962, and the addition of some other cubits to France’s stature, the largest step in its resurrection was accomplished by the Allied armies sweeping the Germans out of France in 1944.
What we are witnessing now in the United States, by contrast, is just the backwash of inept policy-making in Washington, and nothing that could not eventually be put right. But for this administration to redeem its credibility now would require a change of direction and method so radical it would be the national equivalent of the comeback of Lazarus: a miraculous revolution in the condition of an individual (President Obama), and a comparable metamorphosis (or a comprehensive replacement) of the astonishingly implausible claque around him.
Until recently, it would have been unimaginable to conceive of John Kerry as the strongman of the National Security Council. This is the man who attended political catechism classes from the North Vietnamese to memorize and repeat their accusations against his country of war crimes in Indochina, and, inter alia, ran for president in 2004 asserting that while he had voted to invade Iraq in 2003, he was not implicated in that decision because he did not vote to fund the invasion once underway. (Perhaps Thomas E. Dewey would have been an upset presidential winner in 1944 if he had proclaimed his support for the D-Day landings but advocated an immediate cut-off of funds for General Eisenhower’s armies of liberation.)
Teen employment hits record lows, suggesting lost generation

WASHINGTON — For the fourth consecutive summer, teen employment has stayed anchored around record lows, prompting experts to fear that a generation of youth is likely to be economically stunted with lower earnings and opportunities in years ahead.
The trend is all the more striking given that the overall unemployment rate has steadily dropped, to 7.4 percent in August. And employers in recent months have been collectively adding almost 200,000 new jobs a month. It led to hopes that this would be the summer when teen employment improved.
In 1999, slightly more than 52 percent of teens 16 to 19 worked a summer job. By this year, that number had plunged to about 32.25 percent over June and July. It means that slightly more than three in 10 teens actually worked a summer job, out of a universe of roughly 16.8 million U.S. teens.

In my mother’s telling, I exist because of the March on Washington .
Her account went something like this: In 1963, she was a student at Goddard College, an experimental school in Vermont that attracted the forerunners of the hippies. My father had come to Goddard the previous year, and though my mom first noticed him throwing peas in the dining hall (this seems to be an inherited trait), she didn’t meet him, she said, until that day on the Mall 50 years ago this week, when Goddard students who had arrived separately executed a daft plan to meet near the Washington Monument.
Alas, my father, when I asked him about it this week, had no such recollection. My mother died five years ago, so I’ll never know whether her account — my founding narrative — is apocryphal, or whether memory of it has been clouded by things people did to their minds in the ’60s. Perhaps it doesn’t matter. Whether they first met that day or not, my future parents, 20 years old at the time, were both there for the signal event of their generation.
“I can still see the scene,” my father told me, recalling his spot along the south side of the reflecting pool, from which he could see the speakers at the Lincoln Memorial and hear the speeches clearly. “When people talk about Martin Luther King, that’s my connection. It’s a small connection — no handshake or anything — but I’m proud to have been there.”
I envy him that connection, to a cause that stirred so many Americans and defined a generation. My generation, Generation X, has no equivalent.

According to the US census Bureau, at least 1 in 4 N.J. adults, ages 18-31 live at home and 42% are 24 or older. Experts call it an “epidemic” of millennials leaching off their parents, but does a bad economy and student loan debt crisis justify the situation?
A new survey from Coldwell Banker says parents in the Northeast region are more lenient on this than anywhere else in the US on children moving back home.
But, according to the survey, more than two in three Americans believe that too many adults living at home with their parents are avoiding responsibility, and 65 percent believe too many young adults who move back home after college are overstaying their welcome.

Pro Football Talk reports that that referees working training camps have been warning players about celebrating too much.
The taunting rule is nothing new in the NFL, but what some critics have dubbed the “No Fun League,” officials will now go a step further to enforce the rule.
Homeland Security loses track of 1 million foreigners; report could hurt immigration deal

The Homeland Security Department has lost track of more than 1 million people who it knows arrived in the U.S. but who it cannot prove left the country, according to an audit Tuesday that also found the department probably won’t meet its own goals for deploying an entry-exit system.
The findings were revealed as Congress debates an immigration bill, and the Government Accountability Office’s report could throw up another hurdle because lawmakers in the House and Senate have said that any final deal must include a workable system to track entries and exits and cut down on so-called visa overstays.
The government does track arrivals, but is years overdue in setting up a system to track departures — a goal set in a 1996 immigration law and reaffirmed in 2004, but which has eluded Republican and Democratic administrations.

RIDGEWOOD — Residents of Hope Street and Spring Avenue went to a Public Service Electric and Gas workshop on Wednesday night expecting to air their concerns and ask questions about the recent installation of 65-foot-tall utility poles.
What those 60-plus residents got instead at Village Hall was a cut-and-dry informational exhibit — one they say left them exasperated.
More than 20 PSE&G employees staffed six tables set up in council chambers. Each table focused on a different aspect of the project, from construction and engineering to potential environmental impacts. The staffers invited residents to tour the tables and have their questions informally fielded.
But a majority of the residents walked out in protest. Others stayed, after the residents took a vote on how to respond to the format.
“This is not what I came here for,” muttered one as she exited. “Somehow, though, I’m not surprised.”
Two Americans Added to Food Stamp Rolls for Every Job Administration Says It Created

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said yesterday that the Obama administration has pulled the nation from the depths of the “Great Recession” with the creation of 7.2 million private sector jobs.
“And what is absolutely true is that we have come a long way since the depths of the Great Recession. We’ve created over 7.2 million private sector jobs,” Carney told reporters at a press briefing.

San Jose State suspends collaboration with online provider
San Jose State suspends its project with Udacity to offer low-cost, for-credit online courses after many students fail to pass them.

San Jose State University is suspending a highly touted collaboration with online provider Udacity to offer low-cost, for-credit online courses after finding that more than half of the students failed to pass the classes, officials said Thursday.
Preliminary results from a spring pilot project found student pass rates of 20% to 44% in remedial math, college-level algebra and elementary statistics courses. In a somewhat more promising outcome, 83% of students completed the classes.
The San Jose State experiment with online education was being closely watched by other universities as they begin to step farther into the virtual classroom.
Udacity, a private Silicon Valley education group, and San Jose State announced jointly that they have agreed to pull the courses this fall to examine results in greater detail and fine-tune many aspects of the project.
