The Record
The boy is 9 months old and will never know his mother. His father, if convicted of her murder, faces life in prison.
Now a judge must decide who will raise baby Mark, the son of Mary Greff and Mark Spatucci, a young Waldwick couple whose passionate relationship was strained by parenthood and ended in tragedy.
The infant was living with his mother at the Waldwick home of the now-retired couple who had adopted Mary Greff. The baby was asleep, apparently, in a bassinet in the same bedroom, when Spatucci allegedly climbed through a second-floor window late on Tuesday.
Prosecutors say that Spatucci and Greff, 23, argued before he strangled her and fled out the same window.
