Ridgewood NJ, with no specifics provided (of course), select members of the Ridgewood Village Council have continued bashing anonymous social media posts, claiming now that the children and spouses of Council members are being groundlessly targeted in certain posts, along with relentless, nasty, and superfluous comments about Council members themselves.
Frankly, The Ridgewood Blog can’t recall posting any comments about spouses of Council members, other than those regarding a certain spouse’s involvement with the Village’s youth and adult soccer programs.
As for children, we recall no mention of anyone’s child by name. However, we do remember that a Council member’s child was alleged to have participated in an act which damaged municipally owned property, and required police department intervention. That incident (no name) was mentioned within an anonymous comment posted on The Ridgewood Blog. To the best of our recollection, no mention of any other Council member’s child has ever been made here.
You may recall that an unnamed member of the Village Council, an attorney if you can believe it, recently questioned the “legality” of The Ridgewood Blog. This leads us to believe that the: “they’re targeting my spouse and kids” rant is just another lame attempt to shut us down. Sorry Charlie; we ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Word to the Council: Straighten up and fly right; everything will be okay if you do.

False claim. Never saw a single post about kids other than the one who wrecked a Village owned asset. And no one’s spouse mentioned other than the soccer coach.
Kwak’s entire family was relentlessly targeted. That’s about it.
Winograd mentions her kid’s names from the dais all of the time. If she’s so concerned about her kids being targeted, she should just stop mentioning their names. Weitz also talks about his kids. And Mortimer has mentioned his already. Just shut up if you don’t want your kids brought into the equation.

Asking council members past, existing and new candidates, if their children attended RW schools is not an offense. The question has merit. No one is mentioning kids names or degrading them in any way. Asking if they play sports in town is not a violation.
Would like to understand the concern.
Where my kids go to school is not a public issue.
