Boonton Township NJ, on Christmas Eve, a Boonton Township man faces charges in connection with the killing of his father, as announced by Morris County’s prosecutor and Boonton Township police on Monday.
Kyle Meyer, 33, has been accused of the murder of his father, Gregory Meyer, with whom he shared a residence on Old Denville Road, according to officials. The authorities responded to an emergency call at the residence around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, quickly identifying Kyle Meyer as a suspect, as stated by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Following the emergency response, police found Gregory Meyer dead at the Old Denville Road residence. Kyle Meyer was subsequently detained in Paterson at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Charges filed against Kyle Meyer include murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is currently held at the Morris County Correctional Facility, awaiting a detention hearing.
The Morris County medical examiner will conduct an examination of the victim as part of the ongoing investigation.
