The Voigt matter is not to be left alone or forgotten. His integrity and character are shot. His attacks and lies are escalating to new heights. This level of deceit is intentional malice. BOE also needs to be addressed. The public needs to get out from behind their computers and stand up against all of it. We are losing battles because the mass majority sits around doing nothing while the BOE/Voigt remain active and launch campaigns to get what they want.
…the Council and the citizens should be made aware of plans before they are finalized. Maybe having someone look over the Library Board’s shoulders might not be such a bad idea. This should not be like our garage Taj Mahal where tons of money was spent before any general consensus occurred. Jeff might have accidentally let the “Cat out of the bag”, but that might prove very advantageous in the long run.
Here we go again. I can just picture the scenario in my mind – Nancy Greene standing before the Village Council and asking that funds be approved for this project, otherwise the monies spent on the planning and design phase will be wasted. Didn’t we hear the same arguments from Roberta Sonenfeld about the proposed Hudson Street parking deck (GARAGE)?
Sunshine is the best disinfectant. Anonymous commenters here at TheRidgewoodBlog.net are fully capable of legitimately weaponizing whatever inconvenient but accurate information arises that the entrenched special interests would have preferred be suppressed..
Hopefully the Mayor will reveal who gave her the false information about the Library and what action she is going to take.
What lies did Voigt tell?
Might be time to hold people personally responsible for spending public funds without proper approval.
Hey Mayor its time to take charge and reel in any council person who is out of line after all he made the comments to you. You preside over meeting, it you duty. Do your job and stop playing the victim and ginning up you base
He was right about the library. lets see what he has to say about the mayor. Still waiting to hear more…
Rec Committee has been quiet of late….look for them to become active again in 2017.
Jeff was wrong in how he managed the library mess. When Susan was provided with a statement that was full of lies, Jeff should have clarified that the library is well along with its plans, architect renderings, financials for the big renovation, etc. We know that Jeff loves to interrupt the mayor whenever she speaks. Well, Jeff, why didn’t you interrupt her at this time?
If the plea is “We already spent a ton of money, so we have to spend more,” I recommend the following reply by the Council: “Your bad. Cut your losses.” Spending $5 million to create a performing arts center with no parking while reducing the number of books in the library would be as appalling in the current financial situation as Christie’s plan to spend $300 million upgrading the State House while state pension plans, infrastructure, and much more are in desperate need and our credit rating sinks and sinks. NO to library upgrade. Replace the board and stop charging a fortune for DVDs and so on.
7:55 playing the victim? Voight is an out of control crazy as he has shown repeatedly. Knudsn handled him like a seasoned pro. I was a supporter of his and had his sign on my lawn only to have him screaming in my face right after election. Voight should resign.
No 9:51.The Mayor should have doubled check the facts before making the statement. She owns it not Jeff. And if Jeff did clarify the Mayor you would have accused him of picking on her. She allegedly took it upon herself to spoke to someone at the the library instead of asking the council liaison to look into it and report back to her and the rest of the council. No 9:51 our mayor owns this and no amount of political defection will change it.
Hey 12:10….kiss my ass and your state pension plan. Another lackey, toadie and sycophant.
5.49 (to 12:10.) take your Meds..bad dog..down…down…happy New Years.LOL
Up you medication 5:49.
Why should the mayor be stuck with voigts stupidity? He said the library was closing for a year while undergoing a 5 million dollar renovation. It’s either true or not. Judging on voigts record my money on the mayor. 4:59 how do you know she contacted the library? Sounds like another crazy Voight allegation. Why not ask instead of allegedly? Crazy voigt. What a big mistake he was.
8:01 Try reviewing what the Mayor said on 12/14/2016 the replay of that council meeting. Listen to her statement at 10:10. Then you tell me where she got her information from. Did she make it up or did she speak to someone from the library. The Mayor statement contradicts the Library meeting minutes on the subject. Another point. She made her statement about the lLibrary in the very beginning of the meeting which did not afford Councilman Voigt and opportunity to set the record straight when he gave his council liaison report latter in the meeting. So who is right here the Mayor or the minutes. If you watch the video the Mayor states the the the Ridgewood Library plans are more “speculative ” . Thats not what the Library minutes indicated. So who is tell the truth.
8:01 From the minuets
“Ms. Greene described the five-year planning process conducted by the Library, which included development of a Strategic Plan with consultant Alan Gray of Darien Library, and a Building Program with consultant Leslie Burger of Princeton Library.” Do you think that hiring two consultants who gave their presentation at the Library board meeting mere “Speculation” as our Mayor stated?
Jeff, you are pitiful reading the Blog obsessively and posting anonymously to defend yourself. Just like you posted trash about Ramon Hache when you were both running. We see you checking the Blog all the time. You are a sad, sad little man.
Is the accusation that the mayor breaks the law when she goes over the head of the designated council liason and speaks directly to a committee or committee member? This does not sound like it should ever be considered a legal infraction. An individual councilmember should never be forbidden to speak to a person or people they believe may possess information relevant to their official positions or the decisions they need to make. Ever heard of whistleblower laws? Would you want to make it illegal for a Councilmember to bend an ear toward a whistleblower?

Are you serious or delirious? The mayor appropriately cleared the air at the start of the meeting. This provided Jeff ample time to “set the record straight.” Councilmembers have all the opportunity they need or want to speak. And Jeff Voigt is never hesitant to speak up even when someone else is talking. Meetings go for hours sometimes. Jeff could, have, and should have, taken the opportunity to straighten this out.
So sorry I voted for him. When and where do I sign for,the recall?
