Are they waiting for the consultants report before voting to spend $15,000,000 taxpayer dollars?
It seems to me that at one time the cost was going to be $ 10,000,000, now it keeps creeping up before anything happens. I say no to the garage at taxpayer expense.
You can’t stop the 3 Amigos and their plans and they know it.
I hear that Greek To Me is serving free gyros to anyone who speaks in favor of the parking garage and let not for get Gyenn’s brownies .
CBD business owners have to be involved in helping to fund this – only way to provide oversight of union thug contractors who will “change order” this thing into a massive cost overrun at taxpayer expense. If Council members are so arrogant to put taxpayers at full risk of this then they won’t be Council members any more…
Never ever park in the garage , if it is built. See if out-of-towners park in it. The cost of parking may be prohibitive.
Let’s be honest here. Some weekends only time it gets too crowed here. Never really too crowded if you are willing to walk a few blocks.
It will be 20 mill, talk about tax money not at work. well I just herd that the village did not replace any of the fleet mechanics that repair the 300 pice’s of equipment that we own. service is being pushed back. repairs are not being done. so now the village is sending out repair work to out side venders and the bill’s are just building up. from what we herd in village hall the other night is it’s costing more to do the repairs by sending the work out. because they need to make money, the village money is being wasted.. this is all true. the top dogs in the town are banging there head at this . and they are in a big jam. if the village has a big storm and leaf and winter around the corner one of the councilman said we will be in big trouble . the work will not get done.
No money in the budget to buy a new change machine at the train station, but $15 million for a parking garage is no problem.
It will turn out to be the “Parking Garage to Nowhere”.
…but by then, the money will be spent the eyesore will be there and it will be too late.
what happen to all the village workers ,why is the mayor and council not replacing the work force, we the tax people are paying for service and the workers that have been retiring are not being replaced, ware did all the money go. In some departments are down to dangerous levels . if the village has another sandy storm we will be in big trouble. and what about leaf and winter around the corner. some one up top needs to hire workers.
30 minutes of comments twice on the agenda with a 5-minute limit. That means 12 people. I say organize all of the residents to get up and give a 1-minute comment, MAX. Get sixty voices on the record. If you can state your name and make your comment in less than one minute great because you can give the last commenter extra time to recap the prior statements. Don’t fall into their trap, get up, state your case and turn it over to the next person.
10:39, they’re not replacing those workers because fleet repair has been outsourced to Paramus. They won’t be replaced because we have to pay for past promises on pensions & platinum healthcare. The bills for those are due as well with almost 20 retirees expected to be drawing +$100K pensions by the end of 2017, plus a 40% excise tax on their platinum health coverage from 2018 that will have to be paid for by the Village. Stinks for current employees who will be cut to bronze level health care
10:23 pm I love how you complain about $100K pensions & platinum health coverage all while you screw people where you work each and every day.
