Suicide Bike Lanes Continue to Cause Congestion at the Ridgewood Train Station

Ridgewood NJ, at Wednesday’s night Council meeting residents voiced concerns over the additional spaces at the Ridgewood Train station . The main concern has now shifted to to an issue the Ridgewood blog has commented for some time. Its not the parking its CONGESTION !

Why the answer is simple the , STUPID SUICIDE BIKE LANES. The “traffic easing” project at the train trestle did more damage to Village businesses in the Central Business district than any other misstep . It is well documented that the so called “traffic easing ” makes both West Ridgewood and Godwin impassable during certain hours of the day . This will clearly only be exacerbated buy new construction on Franklin. Going from two lanes to single lanes was just DUMB and DANGEROUS.

  1. it’s time to pain over that bull shit lane to no place. what a screw up that turned out to be.

  2. Unfortunately, paint alone won’t do it. The center median was widened and would have to be knocked out and rebuilt to be no wider than it was before, and preferably narrower. The turn was always tight when cars were in both lanes.

  3. Do what I do…COMPLETLY IGNORE IT. If the VC is so completely stupid enough to ignore the fix then I’ll join them. God help the first biker I come across in the lane to nowhere.

  4. Dont worry about hitting anyone, 1.13pm, as no cyclists use it.

  5. Did anyone ever do a bike count before this was built probably only because a grant looked like prize money? Drivers are uniformly courteous to bike riders as someone who has done many bike tours. Far more dangerous is the unenforced stop on red at Broad St & the one on W. Ridgewood Ave.. I guess the Village engineers missed that one.

  6. 12 :29 noted the first fat boy medium was built had had to be ripped out even tho was brsnd new so lets total it again to restore origin width howz that for a Fubar traffic calming feel good that others are paying for. lawsuits will be a record payout when some fool takes the green paint bait

  7. 9:35 its on record underpass is a hazard to bike riders and pedestrians as well as drivers ..lawyers will hammer town and state road admin

  8. Yes, 11:26, I believe at a cost of $40,000 only a very short time after it was put in. The cement may not have completely dried.
