Paramus NJ, a dramatic police chase unfolded on Wednesday afternoon, February 26, after a male-female duo allegedly committed a theft at Target in the Bergen Town Center, Paramus. The male suspect was captured following a foot pursuit near the Paramus-Oradell border, while the female suspect was apprehended at the scene of a related car crash.
High-Speed Escape Ends in Injury
The chase began when the male suspect fled from a crash involving a black SUV on Burlington Street, a dead-end road in Paramus. The crash left a tree, a fence, and the vehicle itself damaged. As police pursued him on foot, the suspect fell into a stream near Glenside Court West, Oradell, sustaining a leg injury.
Paramus police officers, with assistance from a K9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended the injured suspect. A heavily guarded ambulance transported him to The Valley Hospital for medical attention.
Female Accomplice Arrested, Vehicle Impounded
Meanwhile, the uninjured female accomplice was taken into custody at the crash site and transported to Paramus Police Department headquarters for processing. The black SUV was towed to the Paramus PD impound yard for further investigation.
Multi-Agency Response
The incident saw a coordinated response from multiple law enforcement agencies. Officers from the Paramus Police Department, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and Oradell PD worked together to bring the situation under control. EMTs from IAEP Local 201 – Paramus EMS provided medical assistance at the scene.

This is one of the reasons why I don’t shop at Garden State Plaza or the Bergen Mall anymore. And they want to build high end housing on those premises? Crazy.
What, you can’t freely steal and shoplift here in California east? Nice job PPD and OPD, we appreciate you. You too Bergen County Sheriff’s Officers, but you should be busy safety marking all the collapsed manhold covers on county roads. Local police can handle shoplifters.
