Teaneck NJ, Teaneck Chief of Police Andrew R. McGurr reports on the Sunday Protest at Congregation Keter Torah.
Chief of Police Andrew R. McGurr announces that on Sunday, March 10, 2024, beginning at approximately 12:00 p.m., a demonstration occurred within the Township of Teaneck, in the area of New Bridge Road and Roemer Avenue. The demonstration was in response to a private event involving the showcasing of real estate in both Israel and the West Bank at Congregation Keter Torah, located at 600 Roemer Ave. Teaneck. Initially, a large group of protestors assembled at the Teaneck Armory, located at 1799 Teaneck Road, and marched through Bergenfield where they joined other protestors in Continental Park on Roemer Avenue, across the street from the temple. At approximately 2:00 p.m., a car rally, made up of approximately 25 vehicles, traveled from River Road east on Roemer Avenue through the area of the demonstration. The demonstration concluded at approximately 5:00 p.m. A total of two arrests were made during the demonstration.
