Teaneck NJ, a routine disturbance call in Teaneck, NJ, turned violent early Friday morning when a woman allegedly kicked, hit, and even bit officers while in possession of a powerful synthetic drug, police said.
Disturbance Call Turns Chaotic
Shortly after midnight, officers responded to Glenwood Avenue near the Route 95 on/off ramp after receiving reports of a disturbance inside a car.
Upon arrival, police were waved down by a man standing outside the vehicle. Inside the driver’s seat, they found Valeria Valencia, who appeared distressed and in pain. Officers immediately called for an ambulance.
However, as they engaged with her, Valencia’s behavior allegedly became erratic and aggressive.
Discovery of ‘Tusi’ – The Dangerous ‘Pink Cocaine’
While attempting to de-escalate the situation, officers noticed Valencia grabbing at something beneath her and trying to conceal it in her clothing. Upon investigation, police discovered a plastic bag filled with a pink powdery substance, later identified as ‘tusi’ or ‘pink cocaine’—a highly dangerous mix of ketamine and MDMA.
Authorities said Valencia was showing signs of being under the influence of narcotics.
Physical Attack on Officers
When officers attempted to transport Valencia to Holy Name Medical Center for an evaluation, she allegedly became combative, attempting to strike and kick officers.
During the altercation, she landed a kick to one officer’s chest and bit another officer’s finger so hard that it drew blood. Due to exposure to Valencia’s bodily fluids, the injured officer required medical treatment.
Criminal Charges & Next Steps
Valencia was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
- Throwing bodily fluid at a law enforcement officer
- Resisting arrest
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance
- Failure to make lawful disposition
She was transported to the Bergen County Correctional and Rehabilitation Center.
