Ten Police Departments Answer Call for Near Riot After Teaneck vs Hackensack Basketball Game

Teaneck NJ, according to the Teaneck Police Department,  officers from over ten surrounding jurisdictions responded and assisted our agency with dispersing the crowd of over 300 people at the conclusion of the Teaneck boys varsity basketball game vs. Hackensack around 9:05 pm .

During the incident, Officers on scene received information that a male juvenile had displayed a handgun in the parking lot adjacent to the school, located on Cranford Avenue. A search of this area yielded negative results and no additional information about the suspect was reported. There were no assaults or injuries reported and no arrests were made.

The Police Departments who assisted at the scene were police from Cliffside Park, Englewood, Fort Lee, Hackensack, Leonia, Palisades Park, Paramus and Ridgefield Park, as well as Bergen County sheriff’s officers and Palisades Interstate Parkway police.
