the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, on the Ridgewood blog yesterday several readers discussed the,” bike lane to nowhere for no-one” . A reader asked , “Speaking of the bike lane to nowhere, didn’t the police department recommend portions be removed and didn’t the Village Council pass a resolution to have the work done? Well, it’s still there.”
As far as we know the “bike lane to nowhere or the suicide bike lane” is still there and still leads to nowhere .
While another reader said , “Correction Rutishauser said he would do something and he didn’t. He’s in charge and he as usual, ignored what the residence demanded. And he ignored what the Council told him to do, he should be fired.”
Another reader asked , Please don’t remove the bike lane yet. After all these years, I want to see someone actually use it. Right now, it’s the bike lane to nowhere for no-one. ”
Surely there are residents who advocated for the bike lane and helped bring it about for whom its continued presense signals their personal virtue. To deprive them of that reminder will make it that much more difficult (but of course not impossible) to continue believing that they are morally superior to others. Therefore it must be preserved in perpetuity.
This was a big fat debacle from the brainpower of Roberta Sonenfeld. Oh how she pushed for this stupid project. What a waste.
I think every county road should have the bike lane.
I’ll put one in my driveway and you can ride up and down.
This is what happens when you hire people that don’t have experience. We have so many people in management that just don’t have experience. What the hell happened. It’s amazing how many homes are for sale in the village I’ve read today on mine close to 200, the villages become one revolving door.
Don’t have experience? You need even less than that to know this bike lane thing was beyond stupid….
hey… I actually saw my first bike rider in the bike lane the other day.
.
I travel that road multiple times most every day and this is the first time I ever saw a bike using the bike lane since it has been opened.
.
I wish you would have gotten a picture lol
