Ridgewood NJ, oh wow, The New York Times finally caught up to reality—only took them five years! You have to hand it to them: their commitment to being spectacularly wrong about COVID is truly impressive.

For those of us who actually paid attention, the so-called “conspiracy theories” about lab leaks, government cover-ups, and manipulative public health officials were never far-fetched. But if you asked the Times—or any of their equally smug media allies—we were just a bunch of “misinformed” or “dangerous” science-deniers.

Turns out, we were right all along.

The Times Admits They Were Duped (Oops, Sorry!)

In a deliciously ironic twist, The New York Times is now reporting that the Wuhan lab leak theory is not just plausible, but likely. Yes, the very same theory they aggressively mocked for years. And let’s not forget how they smeared anyone who dared question the official narrative.

Their recent oops-we-messed-up piece even lays out how scientists knowingly misled the public—you know, the ones we were supposed to trust blindly. It turns out, some of these “experts” privately believed the lab leak was the most probable explanation, but then worked behind the scenes to cover it up with the help of government officials.

The Science Was Always Political

And let’s talk about those “top scientists” we were told to worship. According to The Times, in March 2020, a paper published in Nature Medicine categorically dismissed the lab leak theory—not because of actual science, but because they were scared. Congressional investigations later exposed their internal chats where they admitted they thought a lab leak was likely.

So, what did they do?

🔹 They ran to Jeremy Farrar, now the chief scientist at the World Health Organization, who promptly got a burner phone (totally normal behavior) and arranged meetings with top officials, including Dr. Fauci and Francis Collins.
🔹 They changed their story—privately acknowledging the lab leak possibility but publicly calling it “implausible.”
🔹 They even coordinated how to mislead a New York Times reporter, throwing him off the lab leak trail.

Yes, the same Fauci-backed paper that became the go-to argument for debunking the lab leak was written by scientists who knew they were lying. And The Times, ever the willing accomplice, ate it up for five years before finally realizing—oops!—they had been played.

Where’s the Accountability?

This isn’t just a case of bad journalism—it’s a monumental failure that wrecked lives, justified devastating lockdowns, and destroyed trust in public health institutions. And let’s not forget how they labeled anyone who questioned the narrative as a racist, a conspiracy theorist, or a danger to society.

So, what now? A half-hearted mea culpa buried in the pages of The New York Times? No, sorry—after five years of pushing fear, censorship, and misinformation, that’s not enough. And next time they demand we “trust the science,” maybe—just maybe—we should remember who really deserves our trust. (Spoiler: It’s not them.)
