
On this Memorial Day weekend, we remember those who sacrificed their lives for “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who are grieving. May we, as Abraham Lincoln famously said, “highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain–that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom–and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

It is certainly quite appropriate for you to issue a Big Thank You here on Memorial Day, PJ. Many soldiers have lost their young lives defending our American way of life. And that way includes speaking freely, as is done more or less continuously here.

I think they’re all full of shit. Show me different, when they start coming around and talking to all the workers then I believe it. Until then well you know.
Growing up we Americans took free speech for granted. Worldwide outside the U.S. as it turns out speech is quite restricted. But for Trump’s improbable POTUS victory in 2016, free speech here would probably have been experiencing its dying gasps by now under the unmerciful bootheel of Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit.
