Ridgewood NJ,  The Journey of the 2020 RGIFF! The Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival, originally scheduled as a live film festival event in April 2020 had to be postponed until October 2020 due to NJ Covid 19 restrictions. When NJ tightened Covid 19 restrictions further and closed theaters and banned all public gatherings, the Festival Committee was determined to NOT CANCELING the Festival. The Festival Committee decided to do a Virtual Film Festival in December 2020. Of course, never having done a virtual festival before, we experienced technical issues in learning a totally new platform to host the Festival. Committed to holding our Festival, the 2020 Festival dates was pushed out yet once again. Hence, that’s how we got here – our 2020 Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival being held virtually from February 27-March 3, 2021. We feel this is the continuation of the journey of our 2020 Festival and, hopefully, will be calling for submissions soon for our upcoming 2021 Film Festival.

85 films from throughout the United States and 8 foreign countries will be featured in this year’s festival. Join us throughout the 5-Day Festival and enjoy not only our wonderful selection of films but also our free interviews, free master classes, a live filmmaker Networking Room and our Awards Show.

Celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2020, the Ridgewood Guild’s Annual International Film Festival has grown from a two-day event to a seven-day festival and special events all showcasing creative and inspiring independent filmmakers and films from around the globe.

Our Festival programming provides film entertainment that covers a wide variety of genres, offering something for just about everyone. It gives independent film artists a platform for sharing their work with audiences that might not otherwise have the opportunity to see them.

At the RGIFF, all films are fully reviewed ensuring that each film submitted receives fair and equal consideration. Films are eligible for jury awards. All jurors are industry professionals. Go to our ‘ABOUT’ page to meet our Jurors.

The winners of jury awards will be announced for Best Short, Best Animation, Best Student, Best Documentary, Best Musical Video, Best Web/New Media and Best Foreign Film. Each year a $500 honorarium is awarded to the Best High School Student and Undergrad College Student Filmmaker.

We will miss all of you this year visiting our Red Carpet and attending our parties but look forward to the next Festival to celebrate independent film in person with all of you.
