Ridgewood NJ , according to the Ridgewood Police ,the Department has found that a vast majority of the stolen vehicles in our community have been stolen because the keys (or key fob) were left inside the vehicle at the time of the theft, and the vehicles have been left unlocked. The Ridgewood Police Department strongly encourages our community to lock your vehicles at night, to never leave your keys (or key fob) in an unattended vehicle, and to avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle at night.

  1. “lock your vehicles at night, to never leave your keys (or key fob) in an unattended vehicle, and to avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle at night.”

You have to tell this to people today. In the old days you didn’t have to.

    These people vote.

  2. Mindnumbing stupidity.

  3. Remember, the safest place to store valuables, cash, and jewellery is in your car parked out in the open, unlocked, and with the key fob inside.

  4. Wow, ridgewood actually publishing police blotters and letting residents know what’s going on. This is rare. Purely an attempt to keep the towns fading image. There are residential/car burglaries, domestic violence, drug activity, sexual assaults and DWIs occurring frequently, but you almost never hear about it. What’s important Knudsen, keeping the towns image or keeping residents informed ?

  5. Guess what every town in North Jersey is experiencing call robberies each and every day nothing new. In the end if they want it they going to get it. Keys, key fob, alarm systems, no wheels on the car, they’ll just pick it up at the tow truck and take it away one way or another ,If not today tomorrow. This has been going on my whole life. Remember back in the 80s all the cars we’re Being robed at all the malls.

  6. Ridgewood’s image has not faded…
    It’s gone.
Ask Slob O Baino wino grad.
