Ridgewood NJ, Through the collaboration of the Parks Recreation & Conservation Board (PRCB) and the Villge of Ridgewood IT Department, the Village will start offering free WiFi at certain public locations. It will be first rolled out at Graydon Pool and The Stable in early June. The Village is currently working on other locations including Van Neste Square Memorial Park which is located in the heart of our Central Business District.
Public wifi is a security hazard that no one should willingly use, unless it is an emergency.
everyone has wifi on their phones. Why is village spending money for this?
Yes, this all sounds great and cool, but what is the point in providing this service? As someone has already said, pretty much everyone these days has data included in their cellular plans, plus there is already Optimum wifi for Optimum cable customers in much of the Village. There are also complimentary wifi points in many of the cafes and restaurants. So once again, why is the taxpayer paying for this service?
Need public WIFI in Village Hall because cell phone service in that building sucks.
Okay, village hall is fine. Why is this service needed in public parks?
