During the early morning hours of March, 24, 2019, two armed suspects forced entry into a residence located on River Road in Oakland and held the victim at gun point. The suspects ransacked the residence, stealing cash and personal items from the victim. After a physical struggle with one of the suspects, the victim was able to flee and contact the police.
As a result of the investigation, Kyle WEICHELT, Marcos RODRIGUEZ, and Michael VALLE were identified as the primary suspects. On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, detectives executed search warrants in Clifton, Garfield, and Bergenfield. WEICHELT, RODRIGUEZ, and VALLE were arrested and remanded to the custody of the Bergen County Jail pending their first appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on a date to be determined. The attached charge sheet provides the details of the criminal charges.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would like to thank the Oakland, Clifton, Garfield, Bergenfield, and Port Authority Police Departments for their assistance in this investigation.
