Montvale NJ, according to Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali , “We will be filing our lawsuit, with a coalition of towns that also listen to their residents, very shortly to bring fairness to the affordable housing process. Once we file, we have only 30 days to include any other town interested in joining. Mayors and elected officials, contact me directly if you are interested at mghassali@montvaleboro.org”
Ghassali said , “Why should we build affordable housing units to cover for Jersey City, Hoboken and 60 other towns’ obligations?”
Ghassali has created a coalition of 62 towns that have affordable housing obligations. Each town contributes to take their cause to federal court.
New Jersey’s “Affordable Housing Obligations” are nothing more than a mandate to line the pockets of developers and has done nothing to lessen the housing crisis . The result of New Jersey’s “affordable housing Obligations ” is the raise the cost of living for everyone .

Oh, yeah, now we’re all suddenly concerned with unscrupulous developers, etc. Dishonesty is not going to forestall the inevitable.
Which is that when taxpayers realize that it is THEIR money going to fight the developers and their money they will care less……
And they will still vote D
Yup. More insult to injury.
Join the fight mayor vagianos.
Vagianos is pro development as a business owner and landlord, so you are probably not going to see him on the right side of this or any other argument when it comes to real estate or fields for the sports kiddies.
Vote NO to Vagianos.
The state of NJ (or any state) should NOT be mandating anything including what type of housing to build. “Affordable housing” helps a handful of renters & a lot of corporate builders, but ultimately puts a strain on the tax payers in many ways, including over burdening the schools and lowerering property values. It seems completely unconstitutional. The the home & business owners need to to abandon political correctness & speak up & fight for their towns.
The most important of all is loss of quality of life. Overcrowding, pollution, noise, traffic, crime, urbanization.
Totally agree.
Don’t forget gas, electric, water usage, flooding due to increased amounts of impervious surfaces……..
Which will have an adverse effect on human behavior.
Weak points, actually. Think that through?
Ridgewood is too weak to challenge Affordable Housing
Don’t expect anything from Glen Rock’s nationally recognized council, either.
They folded on Tammy Murphy, too……………….
