Ridgewood NJ, Mr Morgan and Ms Wilson announced that they will not be seeking re-election in April at last night’s board of education meeting. The Ridgewood blog has been very disappointed with Mr. Morgan over the years and considers the two part of the rogue element that runs the school board ignoring the demands of taxpayers .
Reader says ,’Wow, what a meeting. Morgan and Wilson announced they are quitting and Wilson was very mean and bitter. So if Morgan and Wilson are not running again, then who are the candidates from the developers? They would not give up on the 95M bond easily, that’s designed to bring new tenants to their apartments.”

The other issue over the years is how the Ridgewood school board works and its ” culture of secrecy”  , which we would suggest it is well past time Ridgewood with an enormous school budget starts run itself in a far more professional open manner ,instead of a fiefdom for special interests .

  1. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

  2. They both claim that The Fish is forcing them out.

  3. The same fate awaited them as what happened to their pal Vince Loncto, that’s why they both opted out. Didn’t want to go down in flames.

  4. And Hache is running for Freeholder. NJ Globe posted article last week.

  5. Morgan started out with a bang but hasn’t been the fiscal hawk he once was. No ill will towards Wilson, however when the super brings you a 90 mil shopping list, it’s important to scrutinize the plans top to bottom. A blank check to this superintendent is a dangerous thing since he has to prove to his Bergen County buddies how great he is.

  6. Regardless of your views on their performance, both Jim Morgan and Jennie Wilson did something commendable – they served their community by seeking elected office. They should be congratulated for putting up with the absolute insanity that is local politics in an insular town that views itself too highly for it’s own good. If you didn’t like their politics, thank them for their service and either run yourself or go out and *actively* support someone whose beliefs you share. Don’t just sit behind a computer screen.

  7. RHS Alum, you say they did something commendable. Let me ask a question: did you ever get grades in school? Grades are an indicator of performance. Mr. Morgan had a good first quarter and declined after that. Ms. Wilson seemed to be a procedure wonk but like many before her, got steamrolled. I’m sure you were never “congratulated” for going to school; it was your performance that was the major factor. The BoE is a thankless position but they represent us residents, not to be a rubber stamp for an overspending superintendent.

  8. Hi Anonymous – the flaw in your argument is that I was legally required to attend school. Neither Morgan nor Wilson were required to serve their communities, to try to make the village a better place for students. Again, while you may not have agreed with their decisions, they did something you clearly have no interest in: publicly worked to put our taxes towards improving a common good. You don’t have to believe that the actions they took were right or a good use of money. But it takes stones to campaign, win and then execute on an agenda in front of the town. Best I can surmise, you wouldn’t know anything about that.

  9. RHS Allumn…totally agree. I suspect those who volunteer for anything in this town live to regret some portion of their decision. Don’t like the process or decisions made? Be a change agent by getting ahead of the issues and execute a plan of action.

  10. Thank you for your service…

  11. Please don’t let the door hit you in your ass on the way out. We don’t need another lawsuit.

  12. Is this a repeat of 2016, when three amigos quit after approving four high density projects?
Are Morgan, Muhammed and Wilson going to approve the 95M bond before the election day? Morgan’s letter gives a hint that he likes the bond. Wilson always liked it. Muhammed started liking it after he was given the holiday he was seeking.
