UPCOMING EVENTS IN THE VILLAGE OF RIDGEWOOD

Ridgewood NJ, There are a number of upcoming events in the Village, including welcoming in the holiday season compile by Heather A. Mailander the Village Manager .

November 11, 2018 – 2:00 p.m. – Veterans Day Service in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square

November 12, 2018 – All Village offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. There will be no sanitation or recycling pickup and the Recycling Center will also be closed. The Police Department, on the second floor of Village Hall, will be open on this holiday.

November 12, 2018 – November 18, 2018 – “The Spirit of America’s Story – The Wall” – 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily – Bethlehem Lutheran Church – Opening Ceremony will be held on November 12th at 4:00 p.m. and the Closing Ceremony will be held on November 18th at 4:00 p.m. The Wall is a 70 foot traveling exhibit that commemorates through images, a timeline of the Revolutionary War to the War on Terrorism and is comprised of 10 connected pieces of artwork that stand 92 inches tall and 100 feet long. This exhibit is hosted by the Ridgewood American Legion Post #53 with major support from Rotary District 7490 and the Rotary Club of Ridgewood A.M.

November 20, 2018 – 7:30 p.m. – Interfaith Thanksgiving Service – Temple Israel – Grove Street

November 22 and 23, 2018 – All Village offices are closed in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no sanitation or recycling pickup on November 22nd; however, they will pick up on November 23rd. The Village Recycling Center will be open on November 23rd and November 24th. The Police Department, on the second floor of Village Hall, will be open on all of these days.

November 24, 2018 – Winterfest, sponsored by The Ridgewood Guild – Noon to 3:00 p.m. – Memorial Park at Van Neste Square – Free event includes ice sculpture, musicians, horse-drawn wagon, trackless train rides, tent of vendors and more. This is also small business Saturday, so remember to Shop Local, in downtown Ridgewood!

November 30, 2018 – Downtown for the Holidays, sponsored by the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce – 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – along East Ridgewood Avenue – there will be holiday music and entertainment, a trackless train ride for kids, and Santa will be in the park. From 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., there will be entertainment on the stage, at the corner of Broad Street and East Ridgewood Avenue, and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Join us for this 33rd annual event, which is a Village tradition! There are additional events during the weekend, such as a free movie and breakfast with Santa, which requires payment and reservations. December 2, 2018 – Lighting of the Menorah – 5:30 p.m. – Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, at the corner of East Ridgewood Avenue – another candle will be lit each night of Hanukkah.

December 24 and 25, 2018 – All Village offices are closed in observance of the Christmas holiday. The Police Department, on the second floor of Village Hall, will be open on this holiday.

December 31, 2018 – All Village offices will be open regular hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

January 1, 2019 – All Village offices will be closed in observance of the New Year’s holiday. There will be no sanitation or recycling pick up and the Recycling Center will also be closed on this day. The Police Department, on the second floor of Village Hall, will be open on this holiday.
