Ridgewood NJ, Please see the important, updated information below about various Village information, due to COVID 19 coronavirus:
All Village offices and departments will continue to be closed to the public, until further notice.
Beginning April 13, 2020, all offices and departments will be staffed, with minimal staffing to take into account social distancing requirements, from Monday through Thursday, with the offices and departments closed to the public. All Village offices and departments will be closed on Fridays, without staff. There will be key staff in the offices throughout the week, to ensure that Village operations are running smoothly.
Staff will be answering the phones in their offices from Monday through Thursday, as well as doing daily paperwork for that particular office. Staff will not be in the office on Fridays, but will still be responsible for answering emails and retrieving and answering voice messages.
The staff members who are not in the office, will continue working from home, and will continue to be responsible for answering emails and retrieving and answering voice messages.
Garbage pickup will remain curbside, until further notice, to allow for crews to be able to pick up all garbage according to the existing schedule, because the volume of garbage picked up has almost doubled. Please remember to bring your garbage to the curb in your garbage can, so that animals do not get into it before it is picked up.
Recycling will continue to be picked up as scheduled, which volume has doubled.
Bulk refuse pickup will resume the week of April 13th.
Yardwaste pickup will begin the week of April 13th. If you do not know on what day your yardwaste is picked up, please visit the Village website, www.ridgewood.nj.net and then click on the tile that says, “My Services Lookup”. Put your address in, and it will tell you on which dates your yardwaste will be picked up.
The Recycling Center will open the week of April 13th. It will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will be closed on Wednesday and Sunday. Anyone going to the Recycling Center must enter from East Glen Avenue, on the side of the Fire House, making a right into the driveway. There will be no left turns permitted from East Glen Avenue into the driveway for the Recycling Center. Cars will be allowed into the Recycling Center 5 at a time, to allow for social distancing.
All meters in the Central Business District are free until further notice. Please only park in legal parking spaces.
All flags in the Village will be flown at half-staff indefinitely, by order of Governor Murphy, to honor all that have died from coronavirus and to have a constant and visible memorial, for as long as the pandemic is in effect
because the volume of garbage picked up has almost doubled.
