Ridgewood NJ, As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve, we understand that it is a significant source of concern for all of us, our family members, and the communities we serve.  I personally take comfort knowing that at Valley we have an incredible team that has always come together in times of challenge.

I am writing today to ask for your help.  A national shortage of masks, gowns, goggles, and other personal protective equipment is one of the biggest issues right now for hospitals and healthcare workers. If you have extra supplies of unused personal protective equipment, we ask that you consider donating them to Valley.

This includes the following:

N95 masks
Surgical masks
Face shields or goggles
Fluid resistant isolation gowns
Non-latex (nitrile) gloves

Your donation will help our physicians, nurses, and other providers remain healthy, and ready and able to care for our patients.

We have established a drop-off site at the Hospital’s main entrance at 223 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

There is no longer any debate — the spread of coronavirus is on pace to overwhelm the U.S. healthcare system by this summer.  Social distancing is the most powerful tool we have to change this alarming projection. Please be sure you are fully embracing social distancing and enforcing the practice among all around you. This means avoiding public places and keeping 6 feet between you and others.

I realize that this means making sacrifices, but all of our country’s efforts to “flatten the curve” will fall short if we all don’t fully and immediately embrace the personal sacrifices effective social distancing requires.

I have been touched by the tremendous outpouring of support and offers of help from our community. Please know that Valley remains here for you during this very challenging time.

  1. Please if anyone is not feeling well please stay home. Call your doctor.
And stay away from others so we do not spread this crazy disease.

  2. Can we sew masks to donate?
Specifically, if we sew masks where can we send them? Would you need ones with pockets to insert filter media.

    1. You can make a mask for our front line clinicians! We are providing kits with approved materials that you can take home, assemble, sew and return completed to us. We are currently in need of 1/8 inch elastic banding for the masks. If you have any, please drop off the banding in the container at the entrance to the Ridgewood Police Department on Maple Ave in Ridgewood. More details about picking up the kits will be available shortly.

The Foundation Office are available to you if you have any questions at 201-291-6300

    2. MASK UPDATE: SOME KITS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP
Good afternoon! Valley has finished packets, each packet can make 15 masks. The instructions are in each packet, as are all the material and elastic necessary to complete the masks. If you want to pick them up at The Kraft Center, Valley has them ready. Please email acarape@valleyhealth.com , if you would like a package. (The Kraft Center is located at 15 Essex Road in Paramus.) Once completed, please return the masks to Kraft between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm – Monday – Friday. Thank you very much.
      Hi Diane
We have about 35 packets available, if you want to post the info above to your group. When they come to pick the packet up, someone from the Foundation will come out and meet them. They just need to pop their trunk and we will put it in their car for them. They do not need to come into the building or interact with anyone.
We hope to have additional packets by the end of the week.
      Thanks,
      Bettina

  6. Are you accepting 3d printed face shields?
