Little Ferry NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of LOUIS M. MOLINO (DOB: 06/24/1982; single; laborer) of 16 Couchon Drive, Little Ferry, NJ on charges of aggravated arson, risking widespread injury or damage, and arson. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Little Ferry Police Department under the direction of Chief James Walters.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, at approximately 11:38 p.m., the Little Ferry Police Department and the Little Ferry Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle fire located at 16 Couchon Drive. First responders located and extinguished a 2008 Nissan Frontier that was on fire in a residential neighborhood. They notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Squad, and the subsequent investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Little Ferry Police Department revealed that the vehicle’s owner, LOUIS M. MOLINO, set the fire.
As a result of the investigation, on January 15, 2023, LOUIS M. MOLINO was charged with second-degree aggravated arson, N.J.S.A. 2C:17-1a(3); second-degree causing or risking widespread injury or damage in a residential area; and third-degree arson, N.J.S.A. 2C:17-1b(3). MOLINO was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would also like to thank the Little Ferry Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
