Ridgewood NJ, two (2) high end SUVs collided in the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and South Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood early Monday afternoon, 05/01. One (1) of the drivers sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. Both vehicles were towed away. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire department responded to the incident. No word at the scene as to whether any crash related summonses were issued.
Resident and safety advocate Frank Geraghty warned, “Another two car accident at Van Dien Avenue & Ridgewood avenue in Ridgewood again today in early afternoon May 1. As I do not know the circumstances of this accident so I will not express my opinion. However, I have written before about this accident prone intersection. This will give me an opportunity to once again warn south bound motorists about the danger of making a right turn on red from Van Dien to go west bound on Ridgewood avenue after 4pm weekdays and on weekends because motorists making a right turn have restricted view on their left and cannot see west bound traffic approaching from the east when turning right and must dash out —NO RIGHT ON RED at all times would solve this problem. I once saw a school bus in some ones back yard after it went out of control at this dangerous intersection a few months ago.”

Hard to drive safely when you’re staring at your phone.
How FAST WERE THESE IDIOTS GOING??
Try that intersection at 730am
Total chaos…should be a policer officer directing traffic from 7:15-745
For any real action, these comments and photos should be sent to the signal and engineering dept and the council and village manager.
can’t wait until they are electric and explode upon impact.
I’d like to see the ordinance enforced that requires a 45 degree view at corners .
Bushes blocking corners are a hazard
West glen has bad corners as does monroe and godwin
The wedge where Doremus meets Ackerman
It is hard to see past the fence at Doremus/Ackerman. . By the time you can see if cars are coming you are in the middle of Ackerman.
