Village Council to developers: Do as we say, not as we do

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Village Council recently refused to approve a request for the placement of advertising/informational banners on construction fencing that was made by developers of several new high density housing projects.

Yet The Ridgewood Blog’s staff has counted 2 such banners placed on protective fencing located at the Hudson Street Garage construction project.
What’s good for the goose is not always good for the gander.

  1. Free advertising for every company working on the project? Who paid for these banners? I’m filing a complaint with the Local Finance Board. I think this is unlawful.

  2. The Village is exempt from its own rules. Twas ever thus.

  3. You know what ,this is good so the public knows who did what.

  4. Well fellow residence it’s going to be a shit show in about a year when all these construction sites are done. Forget about driving through the CBD, park your car and start walking. It’s gonna look like Hackensack. All we need now is a bodega, and a gogo bar.

  5. The request came from the Chamber of Commerce to let people visiting Ridgewood know that more parking would soon be available. Driving by the construction site while it was being developed did not indicate to outsiders what was being built.

  6. And a check cashing store front and a vape store

  7. “Driving by the construction site while it was being developed did not indicate to outsiders what was being built.”

Huh? The same applies for the other construction sites. That’s why developers wanted to erect banners.

  8. It’s gonna be big and beautiful. No more driving to Paterson for weed or pole dancing and night clubs and check cashing. And as soon as they find out they can’t fill out those apartments ima bring some homies from the Bronx who are solid on sec 8. Woohoo we’re almost there baby. Inclusion, diversity, that’s the sh!t. Thank you Paulie!

  9. Why do the architects and builders get to advertise their business on signage that we paid for?????

  10. Waiting for the parking garage to be done we’re gonna have a big party to celebrate. And the mayor and council and top officials will pay for it you will see.

  11. The village is NOT exempt from its own rules. Look at the kettle of shit Aronsohn and Sonenfeld are in. Rules do apply

  12. The village is indeed exempt from its own ordinances and zoning rules. What the former mayor and former village manager violated was a state law. That is why they are in a shit load of trouble.

  13. They party

    WE PAY

  14. Well in the village Ridgewood a top officials feel that they can do whatever they would like. If they think they are above the law they don’t care. So They get sued three years later big deal. Lotta big changes in this town and not for the better . They better put a lot of money in the budget for repaving roads.

  15. I can’t wait for the party. It’s going to be amazing. We’re not sure if it’s going to be at the woman’s club or it’s going to be at the basement of Village Hall. Great food and drinks. The contractors, politicians will be there. I’m sure they have champagne right.
