Ridgewood NJ,at 7 am the joint Fields meeting with Parks & Recreation, the Ridgewood Public Schools Athletic Department and the Village youth sports organizations.

The fields committee meets the first Tuesday of every month .  The committee focused on  field restoration, 2024 capital projects and gearing up for the spring season – serving nearly 3,000 youth athletes!

Fields discussion has taken a new sense of urgency given the disastrous flooding the Village has sustained the last couple of years.

  1. For some reason the details of this meeting have not been shared. Many people in town do not want to replace the turf and want to go back to natural grass and I don’t get the feeling that this groups wants residents on these calls. If Siobahn Winograd has anything to do with it, it isn’t a surprise!

  2. Maybe the town needs to hire more than 1 employee to maintain vets field. Flooding aside, the fields are maintained mostly by local coaches/parents/sports orgs while the town turns a blind eye….but no problem. Lets spend $700k on lights and $300k on a shed and play on a grass field that look like vacant lots.

  3. Hey Nancy, I think it’s time to retire, enough
