Ridgewood NJ, some municipalities sell naming right to stadiums , the Village of Ridgewood is selling assigned parking spaces in the Hudson Garage and the Cottage Place parking lot which can be used 24/7/365, through December 31, 2022. At least Richwood is consistent. I’ve lived in this area for over 40 years and there is one issue upon which you can always depend: parking in Richwood.
Will these spaces be in prime locations or in the boonies?
How will they handle interlopers?

So… I can now purchase a parking spot from the garage that I am already paying for through my taxes???

I never pay for parking, it’s ridiculous, Especially going shopping, why would I want to go and pay for parking and walk up and down the Avenue with a bunch of bags in the rain, or cold, or heat, can you imagine carrying bags from Maple Avenue up to the parking garage. We do 99% of shopping online, whatever I need it’s at my front door in a few days. Or if I’m really bored I go to the mall and walk inside in the air-conditioning. Think about it, I just don’t know how these stores are gonna make it down the road with paying all this high rent.
The turnover gives the pols plenty of photo ops.
Come on. Who in their right mind would buy a space in the garage? Is this a marketing ploy to increase usage? Pretend there is such demand u can be one the lucky ones to secure ur very own spot? With open spaces to the left and right of you?

They should be renting out floor’s for year around flea markets. Or have car shows in side . The parking authority need to start thinking how to make money with this parking garage.
I think of the Frasier episode where he gets into a fight with his neighbor over a parking space in the building…………………
Why don’t they rent spaces out to call dealers. Because the car dealers throughout the area are renting parking lots all around us. At least they’ll be guaranteed some kind of income. Who’s running the show. Boy your boy the people who passed us garage and being built Musta got some real nice kickbacks. They stuck it up the taxpayers ass. At this point they should just sell it.
They can definitely have pickle ball tournaments on one of the floors,
