  4. That is too bad. He not only should not be the mayor but should not be on the council. There are too many conflicts of interest with his business interests and should not be involved in what happens to the CBD as he has one of the largest vested interests. He has not been a good mayor and is obsessed with building a sports complex and wasting money that Ridgewood does not have.

  6. He is free to run like every other resident. It is not his fault that people vote for him. If gullible ridgewoodians pick bad people to run their town then Vag or not they will pick them. I am actually enjoying how my fellow residents are screwing themselves and really hope they feel the effects of their voting idiocies. I have become numb and I know things will never be normal again as long as normal minds are becoming a rare species.
    Just watching the show.

that’s one of the nice things about the IBD (I’ll be dead) syndrome……

  7. He’s collecting donations 18 months in advance – his votes on the council from March 2023 should be checked.

    1. Yeah l I ke the sports complex.

    2. This is why he wants that sports field and has been obsessed with making it a reality. He has probably made some big promises to the sports community and if he makes it happen, he will be their big hero because they don’t care about health or safety as long as they get their new field. He is probably looking at this as a sure fire step to secure his re-election. He really doesn’t care about PFAS!! Thanks, Paul. You are a terrible Mayor!

  8. Let’s see who the Blog endorses lol!

I wonder if he’ll run unopposed?
    What a dilemma 😱!

    1. perhaps you could enlighten us as to anything he has done positive for the town?

      1. He’s given the word “understand” a new meaning……

      2. He overwhelmingly removed Susan from office!

        1. All the good things Susan did have been undone and Paul stuck Ridgewood with the tab for his enormous garage and his failed pedestrian plaza. Susan has Ridgewoods best interest at heart, Paul is only interested in fattening his own wallet.

      4. nothing

  9. He’s literally open for business.

I moved out of Ridgewood last year. This past Saturday I met the mayor of my new town. What a breath of fresh air.

Just a regular guy. Made his bones in the pharma world and now wants to lead the town that he grew up in. He’s running for re-election this fall. No one is running against him which tells you how much he is liked and what kind of job he is doing.

    1. Mind sharing your town? Looking to move to a new place. Even though there’s no guarantee it won’t be screwed up by politics of today or tomorrow.

  10. its the rampant favoritism and unprofessionalism that has characterized this town for so long

    1. It runs through every aspect of life in RW. There are clans all over the place including schools. Teachers place kids for the following year with their favorite colleagues and group them based on classroom parents preferences. And this follows the kids as they progress year to year.

  11. Village voters no amazingly little about their home town

  12. He’s proven himself to be the biggest asshole in Ridgewood, but that won’t stop people from voting for him. Too bad.

  13. Ask residents who are not corrupt to consider running against him. Start now. Worst is if he runs unopposed.

  14. Hopefully someone with a BIG set of B@lls will run against him and expose him for who he is.. A POS

  15. Meanwhile NorthJersey dot com has announced RW to be one of the 3 hottest places in the COUNTRY. I must be living somewhere else.

  16. Here’s an idea! Run against him.

  17. Hopefully voters will have recognized that his whole original platform was pure fluff designed to sound good to the voters when he had absolutely no intention of actually doing anything he stated. If he had actually said that my consuming interests in running are to promote my personal businesses and to build the biggest sports field in Bergen County in the most polluted place I can find–no one would have voted for him. And I am one who didn’t!

  18. I’d still like to know the nature of the relationship between him and a young lady he was sitting next to at the former Wyckoff DMV offices on the afternoon of June 19, 2006. Maybe it was one of his daughters, but maybe not. I’ll never forget what I saw that afternoon.

  21. Ok People who should be the next mayor. And don’t tell me the town worker.

    1. I Know, I Know Wine-O Grad

  22. He wanted Siobahn, Evan and Pam on the council so he would have a majority voting block. Now he has also brought Keith in who may also be doing his bidding (time will tell), so if he gets what he wants, which is to advance his real estate investments and increase his chances to make his businesses more profitable in addition to putting a giant plastic sports field on the historic property to please the sporting community (his absolute obsession), then he will probably get those people who share that vision, to vote him back in. Word is that he wants to run for NJ Assembly, so why doesn’t he just do that now instead of ruining Ridgewood. He will bankrupt the Village as he is short sighted and only sees things as important if he can benefit financially. No scruples or integrity whatsoever.

    1. Don’t forget feed the front lines. Where did all those millions go?

  23. I wish his pal Gottheimer could read these reviews and realize that he is a terrible mayor!!

    1. That will only make him realize that he has competition in the quest for uselessness………………

      2
      1
  24. He knows he’ll get elected,
    ‘cuz we’re

    RICH and STUPID

  25. If more taxpayers were clued in they would realize that Paul is not doing the right thing by Ridgewood with their tax dollars. He is an egotistical small man (not size but stature). It is really sad. The fact that he was an environmental lawyer and has his head screwed on backwards when it comes to the priorities in our Village related to health and safety, at one point even having to consider a furlough for Village staff due to budget constraints, all the while putting money into buckets for an artificial turf field at Schedler. Also bringing in the historic consultant, also shady, and using his personal email to communicate with the guy. Have people also forgotten that he tried to literally censor and “hide” residents comments on his Facebook page and that Jason DeAlessi is his Facebook administrator (He owns TapInto Ridgewood). How do like that info. Speaks to his lack of any kind of integrity, which is what a Mayor should be displaying.

  26. RECALL PAUL!!!

  27. They need to not only recall Pau. but get rid of the most useless Evan Weitz and Siobahn Winograd along with Pam Perron. She looks miserable all of the time and Evan does nothing and is never prepared for meetings and doesn’t really know what is going on most of the time. As for Siobahn, she is diabolically sneaky and has her agendas which usually are in line with what Paul wants or building her husband’s soccer field.

  28. The fact that the most important project that this majority block council is focused on is a giant sports field with highly expensive artificial turf, when other projects require attention and yet they will throw money at this crazy project because it is their absolute obsession. That should speak volumes about what they really care about. They boast about how Ridgewood is such a great place to live and how surveys point to Ridgewood as a “hot” property (on their social media) and yet the budget is all screwed up. Anyone who has been paying attention knows that there are budget problems, Ridgewood has no money and furlough were a narrow miss for workers who provide essential services but yet there is money earmarked for a giant ballfield on a historic property. Bob Rooney cannot even answer inquiries on what money goes where because they keep moving it around to ensure they have enough to build their field. This is true lunacy and more people in town need to be made aware of how this council is running rogue with tax dollars, like a monopoly game.

  29. Paul’s report card as mayor so far is an F- and the fact that he has the nerve to run again and will aim to completely bankrupt our fair village is just too much to comprehend. He is machiavelian and only cares about a sports field, not the health, safety and well being of anyone that lives in Ridgewood.

  30. Guess what people it doesn’t matter who the next mayor is going to be. Taxes will go up, Valley Hospital will turn into housing, and the special about the table will make their decisions who the next mayor is. If you don’t have a seat at the table, well, too bad to you. Like we said, the specialty group has a playbook, and they are not sharing it with you. So don’t waste your time Pitchin about anything because they’re going to do whatever they want. Yes you can call the news, haven’t you learned yet. They don’t give a shit if they are going to spend every dollar they have. Why should they save it. it gives them a reason to raise taxes, and have furloughs. Which, which most likely will happen in 2024.

    1. Your attitude stinks. Some of what you say is true. The Mayor is not elected by the people. Yes, there is a playbook that isn’t shared. However, they don’t always get the final say about what happens and if they do, they are going to hear about it and eventually they will get voted out for being the absolute worst Village council who generate little to no respect (except for Lorraine). The majority block all made promises, so therefore, the first page in their playbook is to create a field for the sports community. They don’t care if workers are furloughed, they don’t care about sidewalks or a footbridge but occasionally they have to come to their senses. Paul wants to run for higher office, so I think bad press that he doesn’t control (he can control TapInto Ridgewood because of his relationship with the owner) but other bad press will eventually hurt him because just like his conflicting soundbites on PFAS, it never goes away.
