  1. Maybe it should be replaced with LIVE turf? It may be interesting to see the installation & maintenance costs over the field’s life span and see how many tens of thousands of dollars that were promised to be saved with fieldturf.

  2. How about a 1500000

  3. How about building a Ginormous Garage on Maple Field?

  4. I hate to say we told you so……..but we told you so!!!
Big waste of money as most of us who are not part of the sports groups said from the start.

  5. Using open space funds for artificial turf? that is despicable. Ask Henry David Thoreau about that. He was born in 1817, celebration of his birthday this year, and sort of cared about and loved nature.

Did any council member vote no on the decision to use artificial turf?

Because in any upcoming election those who voted, yes, will not get my vote. The issue is that important.

  6. Thoreau and Walden used to play backgammon together in the woods after smoking some weed grown near the pond.

  7. Oh, and by the way, there is a “contingent” (word seen on this blog to describe those who favor Graydon Pool) , yes there is a contingent that nickels and dimes and complains about every penny spent on Graydon and wants to know how much profit is made at Graydon every year, but the sky is the limit when it comes to field sports.

Yes, there are many from toddlers to seniors who use Graydon.

Hey, field sports people, save some money for Graydon.

  8. What an F,in waste of money. 12 years ago it cost $1 million. The place flooded numerous times and had significant damage that cost money to repair. Plus all of the byproducts that one into the Brook flooding. And now we are spam on Nother million dollars to replace.ridiculous

  9. Stop wasting my tax money on this shit. Do you realize in 12 years now we spent 2 1/2 million dollars on this field do you remember all the floods we have there do you know much paving we can do for tuna half million dollars. My street was just paved on bulgur the last time that was repaid was over 25 years ago I rather see my tax money going towards replacing carbs so I walks paving Then fake grass if anything you could reach that field protein clean fill dirt and put down sod in with an a lot cheaper waste waste waste

  10. pavement condition of local roads are a crime scene..theft of conveyance rights by Neglect..screw the field..pave a dam main road..winters coming suspension and tire fans..towns roads are worse than downtown newark no exaggerations here..shake rattle and collapsed auto damages every day..sewers sinking into hell..
    HELLOOO

  11. Waste of taxpayers money. That money could be used for so many more important things. We love sports we get it the kids need places to play not all towns need Astroturf. I’ve seen many fields that have Grass or sod. He just need to be maintained. The problem Ridgeways they did not replace all of the employees that worked he parks in Shadetree are used to keep all the parks and fields in pristine condition. Now everything went to shit. I don’t think this new mayor and council have any idea what’s going on. Someone is definitely giving the misinformation. Every department understaffed, except the police and fire and The water department so mismanaged. And maybe some of the departments in Villagewalk. Who all others so understaffed there in a dangerous position. As a taxpayer for 40 years it’s a damn joke I’m Kentucky my own private investigation into where did all the money go for these employees, we are all paying tax money for services and we’re not getting it. We have a departmentsin town that I slashed in half with personal.

  12. So very true . We need To concentrate on more on things. Why can’t we use the field for a few more years until it’s shot
