Ridgewood NJ, We often hear discussions about how much we’ve spent on Schedler. It is a lot, but it’s important to see the full picture.
So far, Ridgewood taxpayers have paid about $1.33 million. Another $1.9 million has been approved for park development but hasn’t been spent yet. If that moves forward, taxpayer costs will increase. And of course NONE of this takes into consideration the $1.5m+ bond and god only knows what else is coming.
Meanwhile, $1.97 million in grant money has already been used, and $652,578 in grants remain available to help offset future costs.
The attached graph shows:
- Taxpayer Spend to Date: $1,333,297
- Grants Spent So Far: $1,969,048
- Grants Still Remaining: $652,578

We will never get the straight story from the Vagianos crew. Bamboozled again.
Why do they call it a park plan when really all it is a giant sports field. Why not just call it what it really is instead of making residents believe that it is anything else.
ummmmm, where does grant money come from???
TAXPAYERS!!!
whether it’s from local, state or federal tax dollars ….
According to councilman weitz, grant money is free money
