Ridgewood NJ, while the Village  Council  spent some where around $60,000 for new “squirrel proof” garbage cans  to spruce up the downtown ,contrary to popular belief they don’t empty themselves . The fact is the central business district continues to look shabby due to the lack of routine maintenance . Residents ask where are the street sweepers , and with the pedestrian mall every weekend street cleaning is needed now more than ever.

Maybe its time for a clean sweep. You used to be able to eat off the street in town !

  1. Looks to me like Siobhan and her nitwit sidekicks should have ordered bigger cans with a larger opening. Perhaps someone told her that and she didn’t listen? Dumb ass.

    1. just like those old ones…

  2. The new trash cans seem to be really working out well for Siobhan. A squirrel’s paradise! Trash everywhere, and piled right up top where they can easily get it. Oh what a joy!

  4. Pam too. She was all teary-eyed, practically weeping for the fact that these beautiful garbage cans would attract customers to the CBD and would save the stores. Gimme a break ladies. This was A HUGE EFFING WASTE OF MONDY.

    1. Save the stores…seriously. I would avoid town now until it is cleaned up. Looks like NYC back in the day and again today. Poor management

  5. Amazing, we told you to use the old garbage cans that we had in storage. Another stupid move, waiting till the paint starts peeling off. Yeah, then we have to spend more time and money painting them. Amazing, they could’ve used the old garbage cans, which there’s nothing wrong with them. And use that $60,000 for overtime For doing cleaning throughout the CBD that needs to be done. Do you think people want to come and shop and eat outside and look at garbage cans that are overflowing garbage all over the place, don’t think so again back to the planning board, Houston, Houston. We are having trouble again. this new manager luckily he’s bold because if he had a head of hair, he would lose it. Amazing.

    1. The New Mgr is Pauls buddy, how do you think he got the job in the first place? They go back along time! Nothing will Change, it will only get worse. Paul is the Democratic version of former President Trump.. Sorry to say the Village is NOT in good Hands, worse ever !

      1. drop the Trump Derangement Syndrome its embarrassing . the Problem with Ridgewood is that the voters are uninformed and lazy , they look to kiss a$$ till graduation and then run for their lives

        1. You are 1000% correct!

  6. Do we still have the old garage cans.

  7. Squirrels will be the least of her problems now. With garbage like that the rats will take hold pretty quick. You know what I just thought? You can say the very same thing for this council majority. Well they raised taxes 6 percent for all their pet projects this year, and next year taxes will go up 10 percent for more pet projects and to clean up this year’s rat infestation and other disasters.

    1. And rats are more intelligent than squirrels.

      And probably VC-1

  8. Exactly the village is broke and there’s no more money, so I think about this every other improvement going forward, they will have to borrow the money and bonding, pretty much every village department building is in disrepair. They are going to need millions on top of millions to do repairs and replacing rebuilding Money that they don’t have. So you will see big tax increases in the next five years, if not, they will have to have big layoffs and calling the county in the state to do maintenance. It doesn’t look promising at all for the taxpayers. And they will have no choice in making the whole valley hospital into housing, they going to need to Tax money, if not, the village will suffer. Don’t let anybody bullshit you, because in the past 10 years, all the top dogs in the village of been bullshitting everybody.

  9. Also keep an eye on the Village’s soon-to-be-downgraded AAA bond rating. Borrowing costs will raise at the same time borrowing needs will increase. Overall debt service on an annual basis will consume more and more of the operating budget. This will equate to service cuts and massive tax hikes by this council majority.
I like to continually remind people that this same council majority, and the blonde nitwit especially, freaked out over the pervious council’s 3 percent tax increase in the depths of Covid. Their hypocrisy is nauseating, but the vast majority of Village residents are idiots who will elect these fools again and again simply because they send out a few pieces of mail around election time.
