Ridgewood NJ, The Village Work Session on January 8th is being targeted by residents to show their displeasure over the declining level of services in the Village . A flier making the rounds asks you bring all your Ridgewood friends and neighbors to the January 8th Village Work Session .
The crux of the letter is what the author feels has been a significant decline in the level of Village services . The precived poor response to the leave pick up the last several years seems to have been the catalyst for the current consternation.
While the Ridgewood blog has debated the decline of Village services for years , the powers that be often “poo-poo” the notion , labeling those who spoke out as “chronic complainers ” and the “lunatic fringe” .
The flyer encourages all those attending to bring their list of grievances and a list of the mayor and the village council is supplied along with their email addresses . Looks like the Kool-Aid has gone bad.
All those wishing to attend the meeting is 01/08/14 at 7:30PM
better yet….run for the positions and get elected.
much easier to just complain than to try to solve problems.
Running for office does nothing, a change or shake up of poor management would be better.
Let’s all bring a bag of our leaves (or that mush that used to be leaves) with us to the meeting!
Yay, everyone go to the meeting and complain, it is high time that there was a big crowd at one of those meetings.
I have lived here for 25 years. What is the problem?
Blame the council they are the ones pushing for the third year of no tax increase you can’t lay off all the employees and expect the same service!
They let go working men, but no management who make the big bucks and all the decisions. Corporate cuts from the top. We are top heavy, and have poor management.
This goes back to Mayor Pfunds time in office when was asked if the layoffs and cuts thru attrition would hurt services and he said no. Well know you see it for yourselves.
to all the tax people.
yes you are getting it up your rear end. the services have gone down.I worked for the town for 25 years. in 1995 we had 27 workers in the street dept. in 2000 we had 20 workers.in 2005 we had 17, in 2014 they have 7. they can not keep up with all the work that needs to be done. they are doing the best that they can. but you can not do more with less it don’t work.not only did i work for the village i’m a home owner too for 25 years in town.how can one dept go from 27 to 7. and still get all the work done.who is behind not replacing workers.some one from the top should be telling the council that we need the help. the lay offs hurt this town. all the workers are not pack in the job that they should be at.that layoff was a hit list, end of the story.if you opened your lips, you are done.it was a scam from up top. the old mayor and council new what was going on.they hurt them self.the street dept needs a good four workers to fill that dept how it should, and they will be bizy every day.
to # 7 what is the problem. it’s man power. the street dept is down to 7 workers.they need help fast.
hey what about the money that was talking from the coin room. how much was that.how come that amount is not out in the streets. but yet we talk about leaves.something is out of line hear. what about the overtime spent in the fire and police dept’s.how do we keep spending that big amount every year.and yet we dont hire in a few dept’s that work. I say wow. what is the mayor and council say about that. this tiger team must be drunk. because any one would start at the b o e police fire and overtime money from them.
the mayor and the council need to talk to the workers. why have they not, well some one is stoping it. because they dont need all the dirt out on them. just maybe some one is getting a nice bonus if they don’t hire, it
yes it is time for a sit down, stop the bull shit and have talks with the real people that know what is going on in town. I don’t know why in the past the manager and council and mayor have not meet with the workers, in my book it’s bad .
