the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, If you are planning to catch the Independence Day fireworks display in Ridgewood tonight, you will need to adjust your plans immediately. Due to an incoming threat of severe thunderstorms later this evening, local officials have officially moved the event timeline forward to ensure the show can go on safely.
To beat the severe weather window, the Ridgewood fireworks are now scheduled to begin early at 8:30 PM, weather permitting.
⏰ Critical Timeline & Gate Closures
Because the display is starting earlier than originally planned, entry schedules have been adjusted accordingly. Spectators must arrive early to secure a spot:
-
8:15 PM – Gates Strictly Close. No further entry will be permitted after this time to allow the launch area to clear.
-
8:30 PM – Fireworks Display Begins (Weather Permitting).
🌩️ Ongoing Safety Monitoring
The Ridgewood Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is actively tracking the storm system moving toward North Jersey. Emergency personnel will continue to monitor live weather conditions throughout the evening to guarantee public safety.
Official Statement: “Additional updates will be shared if necessary,” noted Emergency Management Director Jeremy Kleiman and Village Manager Keith Kazmark in a joint statement. Attendees are urged to stay alert to local emergency notifications and loudspeaker announcements on-site.
Pack your gear, head out early, and ensure you are through the gates before the 8:15 PM cutoff to enjoy tonight’s celebration safely!
