West Orange NJ, The West Point cadet killed when a military training vehicle overturned during training exercise has been identified as Cadet Christopher J. Morgan, Class of 2020, of West Orange.
Sr. Cadet Chris Morgan of West Orange is identified by the Army as the fatality in Thursday’s crash at West Point. Morgan, 22, was a Law and Legal Studies major, and a recruited athlete who was a standout member of the Army Wrestling Team set to graduate in 2020
Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams released a statement, saying, “Cadet Morgan was a valued member of the Corps of Cadets and will be missed by all. The entire community is ensuring that our cadets are being cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Morgan family.”
Statement by Governor Murphy on Passing of West Point Cadet Christopher “C.J.” Morgan: “Cadet Morgan represented the highest and best values of New Jersey. By all accounts, he was a standout in every regard – academically, athletically, and in the leadership he showed among his peers within the West Orange and West Point communities. Tammy and I add our deepest condolences and prayers to those being offered from across our state and around the nation to C.J.’s family, friends, and fellow cadets, and all who knew and were touched by him.
“West Point holds a special place as the crucible in which our nation’s heroes are forged. While C.J. was taken all too soon, it is our sincere hope that his legacy and memory will inspire others to reach for something greater than themselves, and seek a life of duty, honor, and service to our country.”
Terrible……doesn’t make any sense.
A very loss for this young man and his family. We know we need training for the worst condition, just so sad to lose a young man.
