Ridgewood NJ, 2021 is the Year of the Ox. Some of the animals (such as Rat, Snake, Dog and Pig) aren’t normally well-liked in Chinese culture. But as a zodiac, their positive traits are bestowed on people born that year.

They play a much bigger role than in Western cultures. Your animal can decide your career, health and relationship success. Make sure you find out what zodiac animal you are!

The Ox is the 2nd animal in the Chinese Zodiac. The Year of the Ox begins on February 12, 2021. Originating thousands of years ago to celebrate the reawakening of nature, Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival, is a time of reunion and thanksgiving. Lunar New Year festivities begin with the new moon on the first day of the New Year and end on the full moon 15 days later.

According to Chinese legend, the Lord Buddha called all the animals to come to him before he departed earth. Only 12 animals came. As a reward, he named a year after each of them in the order that they arrived: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. In Chinese astrology, people take on the characteristics of the animal that rules the year of their birth. Those characteristics can also be seen in the year itself.

During the Year of the Ox, all of us will feel the yoke of responsibility, with success only being achieved through conscientious efforts. It will be a good time to focus on home and family and put your house in order. Although the list of what needs to be done may feel endless, diligence and discipline will pay off as the year progresses, and patience will be rewarded.

Those born in the Year of the Ox tend to be dependable, calm and methodical. Although generally fair-minded, they can be quite stubborn with strongly held views. The Ox-born are systematic and are capable of great accomplishments through sheer tenacity and dedication. Those born in the year of the Ox are most compatible with those born in the Year of the Rooster, Rat and Snake.
