More and more Americans are spending their golden years on the job.
Almost 19 percent of people 65 or older were working at least part-time in the second quarter of 2017, according to the U.S. jobs report released on Friday. The age group’s employment/population ratio hasn’t been higher in 55 years, before American retirees won better health care and Social Security benefits starting in the late 1960s.
And the trend looks likely to continue. Millennials, prepare yourselves. Better yet, consider this and this, so you have a choice in the matter when your time comes.

Working past 70 because they have no retirement savings.
Savings what’s that look with your cost where do you die
Everything cost so much money work till you die
Build a big garage and 900+ units of low income housing with lots of children to educate and we’ll be working until 90 to pay for it.
good luck. do u know how much u will need. i should of become a cop. hahaha, right boys.
it’s basically the decline in human self-discipline, which has been trending for many years. It can be seen in trends like declining marriage, drug use, babies born out of wedlock, obesity, and an overall growing theme of living in the now rather than preparing for the future. People can bellyache all day about the high cost of this and that, but the average person wastes a lot of money on useless crap. I know it’s easy for me to say this from the anonymity of my keyboard, but I have no doubt that if I took a look into the life of anyone crying broke, I’d find a whole lot of dysfunctional behavior and a series of bad choices
Those who have been contributing to retirement accounts since they started working, and don’t live beyond their means, are doing just fine.
