Wyckoff NJ, starting next week, the Wyckoff Police Department, in collaboration with Dairy Queen, will launch the “Summonses for Bicycle Safety” summer campaign. This initiative aims to promote helmet use among young cyclists by offering a sweet incentive.
Wear a Helmet, Get a Treat
This summer, any cyclist aged 17 and under who is spotted wearing a helmet by a Wyckoff Police Officer will receive a special “summons” – a voucher for a free ice cream cone at the Wyckoff Dairy Queen, located at 299 Franklin Ave. This fun reward is designed to encourage kids and teenagers to prioritize their safety while riding their bikes.
The Importance of Helmets
Helmets are crucial in preventing head injuries during bicycle accidents. By reinforcing the habit of wearing helmets, the campaign seeks to reduce the risk of serious injuries and ensure a safer summer for all young riders in the community.
Community Partnership
The Wyckoff Police Department extends a heartfelt thank you to Dairy Queen for their generous support in providing the ice cream “summonses” for this campaign. Their partnership helps make this safety initiative both effective and enjoyable for the kids.
Ride Safely
So, as you head out on your bike this summer, remember to grab your helmet first. Not only will it keep you safe, but it might also earn you a delicious treat from Dairy Queen!
Stay safe and enjoy your ride, Wyckoff!
