Wyckoff NJ, While answering multiple fire calls this morning, the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a residential home for smoke filling the home. Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working fire and requested a second alarm to be dispatched. The fire was quickly knocked down and brought under control. Thank you to all the mutual aid that responded for their assistance. Our thoughts are with the owners of the home.

At 11:14 am on Friday the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a possible house fire. Engine 236 hit the hydrant and laid in 1,100 ft of supply line. After, engine 236 relayed water to the on scene engine, engine 234. 233 staged at the primary hydrant and set up for a change over in case they needed more pressure. Most of the Fire was contained to one bedroom and no one was hurt.

Carl Kofler the home owner in a facebook post thank the Wyckoff Fire Department in New Jersey

“Today there was a fire in Wyckoff that did significant damage to an amazing family’s home. Fortunately no one was injured but I wanted to take a minute to recognize the Wyckoff VFD for their speed, skill and professionalism in getting the fire out. At the front of the line were these incredible firefighters Julia DeKorte and Chris Repetto – both did an incredible job today. And worth noting – Julia is one of the first female firefighters in Wyckoff history to be at the front of the line knocking down a fire. We are lucky to have all of Wyckoff’s bravest!
Thank you Fire Commissioner Melissa Kurfist Rubenstein.”

  1. That reminds me…..my nephew played baseball at Wyckoff last week…the field right behind the police station.

Hard to believe but Wyckoff does not have lightning detectors at that complex.

  2. Wyckoff does an excellent job. And All volunteers, thank you figure it out.

  3. Amazing that town is run very well
