ODD numbered addresses may water their lawns, shrubs, flowers and trees on Tuesday and Saturday, and EVEN numbered addresses may do so on Wednesday and Sunday. No irrigation is allowed on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Irrigation shall be performed before 10:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m., to limit evaporation. How does one register them with Ridgewood Water?
Two days a week and they want to spend millions on a 7 acre park. How will that be maintained? How much will that cost us? Water should be our main focus and investment till it becomes safe.
The schools water every day rain or shine. Nice to be part of the nomenklatura.
Use of a hand held hose, anytime, unless goes into Stage 3 .
Pix are funny.
from VOR website:
EXCEPTIONS: Irrigation is allowed any day (within time restrictions noted above) if utilizing a hand-held hose or drip irrigation, or if a smart watering exemption is obtained from the office of Ridgewood Water.
you mean pay off Ridgewood water ?
WHy bother.
my neighbors water every day
id like to see some enforcement
those of us who play by the rules without sprinklers have brown lawns by july
I see lots of underground sprinklers being used in the evenings 6pm, 7pm, 8pm. in Ridgewood and Glen Rock (even during the daytime!)
A so called neighbor thinks she’s privileged, says pays a lot money to maintain her grass, and can use her water smart controller anytime of day, evening. Turns it on manually (told me she does since got it) in evenings for hours .front sides, back.
Says “Oh you mean I can’t use it in evenings on the 2 days as allowed and other days??and also is programed to go off at 3 a.m. in morning, and it does!. As if she doesn’t know, and really doesn’t care. Been doing this since couple years since she got that registered smart controller and puts that official sign in her front window. No one says anything to her, so they just follow along, using their traditional above grounds on. If She can do it, so can anyone else! or is this a pay to play??
Comment from a previous post on this:
“Mayor Paul Vagianos has publicly expressed his opposition to the issuance of summonses for these types of offenses. now that everybody knows that, they are watering at Will without fear of any reprisal.”
6/5/2023 email to Ridgewood Water customers:
“Ridgewood Water personnel will be patrolling the neighborhoods to identify and cite Water Restriction Violators. ”
“This is a reminder for Ridgewood Water customers that Stage II mandatory irrigation restrictions are still in effect. Due to limited rainfall and a warmer than usual month of May, the system demand has increased and water storage tank levels are decreasing daily. Tank reserves are required to be maintained for health and safety including adequate pressure and flow for Fire Suppression Services.
In an effort to prevent increased water restrictions, please follow the Stage II Water Restrictions. No residential irrigation is allowed on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, except for the use of a handheld hose, drip irrigation or residents that have been issued an exemption by Ridgewood Water.
If you have an odd-numbered address, you may irrigate on Tuesday and Saturday. If you have an even-numbered address, you may irrigate on Wednesday and Sunday. Mondays and Fridays are irrigation days for governmental properties.
To avoid evaporation, no watering shall be performed between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm and all automatic systems, including those with smart controllers, should be set to operate between the hours of 3am to 7am. Kindly check sprinklers to ensure only plantings and lawns are being watered and not sidewalks, roads, or other impervious surfaces.
For further information, please visit our website at https://water.ridgewoodnj.net/water-restrictions/
Ridgewood Water personnel will be patrolling the neighborhoods to identify and cite Water Restriction Violators. We ask for the cooperation of all Ridgewood Water customers in adhering to the Stage II Water Restrictions. In working together, we can all be a part of ensuring that the health and safety of our communities are protected. When you conserve water, we can meet your water demands by relying on the wells that have the lowest PFAS levels (click for more information[JF1] ) while also ensuring that there is adequate pressure in the system for effective Fire Suppression Services.
Warm Regards,
Mike
