In a Hurry ?

the staff of the Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, The Central Business District has several 15-minute complimentary parking spaces on Oak Street, Chestnut Street, North Broad Street, off of East Ridgewood Avenue, and Wilsey Square on the west side.  These parking spaces are limited to 15 minutes only, are free of charge to everyone, and are to be used to do a quick errand or pick up food or visit a business.  Please be advised that if you are parked in these spaces longer than 15 minutes, you may receive a parking summons.  These spaces have been generously sponsored by several local businesses, which are acknowledged on the 15-minute parking signs.  We encourage you to stay longer in the Central Business District by parking in one of our many lots or the Hudson Street parking garage (at $1/hour), and there is also on-street parking available (at $1.25/hour).

  1. Ha!
    That’s pretty funny.
Too little to late…I’ve been shopping all the surrounding towns that don’t try and nickel and dime you to death.
Ridgewood is completely lost and forgotten.

  2. Pay-for-park coupled with strict enforcement and fines is a sure fire way to put the proverbial ‘nail in the coffin’ for retail stores that compete with malls (and their free parking!)
I’d like to see a financial analysis. Revenue (less stolen quarters), less salaries for enforcement agents, vehicles for enforcement agents, costs of ugly signs and kiosks and net revenue. As a long time resident I could care less if there is any profit. It’s a big negative. Part of the ‘montclairization’ of the Village.

  3. I have to say, Montclair has a lot less empty storefronts than Ridgewood – I was just there recently
