You should have put a quarter in the meter. I would consider 5:30 a lesson, not a gottcha!
Most of us have all been there at some point. It still sucks.
What time did the sign say?
There is no need for low-hanging fruit gotcha tickets. If you stand on ERA for 1 minute and observe the drivers, you will notice at least one driver with the phone to their ear. If pedestrian safety is the #1 priority in the CBD, focus on the moving violations and less on the ‘easy $20’s’
They can give out all the gotcha tickets they want. Tax on stupid.
The parking violations employees are not cops. They do not give out moving violation tickets, so they could not do what 12:38 is suggesting.
How is the village at fault if your car did not have money in the meter during the posted time?
Its just a ticket. Your meter was expired.
The OP must be a millennial…
(rules don’t apply to them)
I drove through town about 630am on Sunday. The row of spots in the Hudson lot closest to Broad was filled with snow covered cars. There were also many cars in the lot by the bus stop. It stopped snowing in the evening on Saturday so these cars had clearly been there overnight. I didnt see any tickets. Very odd.
7:57. VOR Zeal to fix their wagons for crooked over the line parking in a snow and ice storm at 530 on a Saturday early evening ensures that the driver only lesson will be to avoid Risgewood like the plague . Won’t fill a local restaurant seat after a movie ..self defeating folks..we hate our visitors …And try to justify a very aggressive ticketing policy while out businesses cry that the sky is falling and we must support them with Garagezillas that have cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands for rediculous solutions which are likely supporting the multi family buildout
developers.we treat our visitors to VOR businesses like the plague. They have other options..parking tickets defeat that good will completely.
Got to pay for our police – the most expensive per employee in the entire USA – somehow…
