A New Chapter for Ridgewood’s Finest

The Ridgewood Police Department (RPD) officially welcomed Officers Edward Moodie, Felice Bonanno, and Paul Doyle. Having successfully completed their police academy training in June, these three officers have spent the past several months in the field, gaining invaluable experience under the guidance of veteran officers. Their swearing-in marks an exciting new chapter, as they now join the ranks of those committed to serving and protecting the Ridgewood community.

A Historic First: Officer Isaiah Walters Honored

In a proud moment for the Ridgewood Police Department, Chief Forest Lyons presented the inaugural “Officer of the Year Award” to Officer Isaiah Walters. This prestigious award, a first for the department, was voted on by his fellow officers—a true testament to the respect and admiration he has earned.

Officer Walters’s commitment to community safety was highlighted by a series of notable achievements in 2024. Among his accomplishments, he successfully recovered two illegal firearms during a routine traffic stop and was instrumental in making multiple significant arrests. His dedication and courageous actions have made a tangible impact on the well-being of the village.

The entire Ridgewood community extends its gratitude to all members of the Ridgewood Police Department for their unwavering service. Their commitment is the bedrock of our community’s safety and peace of mind.
