Bergen Community College Student Joen Concha Awarded 2024 Coca-Cola Military Leaders of Promise Scholarship

Paramus NJ, according to Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, our very own, Joen Concha, a Bergen Community College student, has been awarded the prestigious $1,000 2024 Coca-Cola Military Leaders of Promise Scholar award by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). Joen’s achievement stands out not only for his academic excellence but also for his service and dedication to his community.

From Army Reserve to Aspiring Space Explorer

After graduating from high school, Joen joined the Army Reserve, where his passion for science led him to the Corps of Engineers. Now, as a student at Bergen Community College, Joen is working hard to achieve his ultimate dream: pursuing a career in the space exploration industry. With his determination and leadership, he is well on his way to reaching new heights.

About the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program is designed to help new PTK members like Joen cover educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential, and are encouraged to take on leadership roles through various programs.

This year, Joen was one of only 210 students chosen for the award from a pool of 1,500 applicants—a true testament to his hard work and dedication.
