Bergen County Breaks Ground at the site of the Future Bergen County Rowing Center

Lyndhurst NJ, on Friday morning the County broke ground at the site of the future Bergen County Rowing Center in the southern section of Riverside County Park. Not only will this exciting project revolutionize the sport of rowing in Bergen County, but will also expand once-limited access to the Passaic River for the public’s recreational enjoyment. Once complete, this 14,285 sq. ft. two-story multi-purpose center will provide more efficient and increased boat storage, as well as improved instructional and community spaces. I am grateful for those that have helped make today’s groundbreaking a reality, including our community partners the Passaic River Rowing Association and the Passaic River Coalition.

This project is just one piece of the general revitalization of Riverside County Park and our continued commitment to open space, environmental stewardship, and the enhancement of our Bergen County Parks System for future generations to enjoy.
