Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ELVIS ORLANDO SAMANIEGO (DOB: 5/15/2000; single; unemployed) of 55 Camille Lane, Patchogue, NY on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On January 5, 2023, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a traffic stop of a suspected stolen vehicle traveling through Bergen County. Detectives were able to confirm the vehicle was reported stolen from Suffolk County, NY on January 3, 2023, and the driver of the stolen vehicle was identified as ELVIS ORLANDO SAMANIEGO, who was taken into custody without incident. A search of the stolen vehicle revealed a controlled dangerous substance (Xanax).

As a result of the investigation, ELVIS ORLANDO SAMANIEGO was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree receiving stolen property, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-7a and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1). SAMANIEGO was released pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable
doubt, and he would like to thank the Suffolk County Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
