Bergen County to build or manage Hudson Street garage in Ridgewood ?

Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco

These 1/6/16 Village Council meeting agenda items were excerpted verbatim from the agenda posted on VOR’s website.

“Discussion

a. Parking

1. Ordinance t o Participate in Leasing Agreement with Bergen County Improvement Authority

2. Authorize Application to Local Finance Board – Hudson Street Deck

10. Motion to Suspend Work Session and Convene Special Public Meeting #2

It would appear as though the Council will introduce an ordinance(s) to form some sort of partnership with the Bergen County Improvement Authority re: proposed Hudson Street parking garage.

What now?

  1. What will the county get in this relationship? We have to give up something. Low income parking?

  2. They are making a deal with the Devil down at the county. Maybe they want a sheriffs sub station in the garage so they could charge Ridgewood for security or maybe a massive police radio antenna for their bergen county dispatch center.
Yes not only look foe your local taxes to go up but your county taxes also. This thing is going to be a cash cow for the county democrats. I wonder what our Mayor is going to get from the county democratic machine ?

  3. I thought the Council were going to do a few studies before moving forward with the garage . Isn’t this putting the cart before the horse?

  4. Keep the county out of it,better yet how about no garage at all.

  5. When I was attending one of the Council meeting a few years this resident got up and said “Paul Aronsohn was the only one on the Council that cares about Ridgewood” Well Ed. what do you thing about that statement now?

  6. So they don’t have the 4 votes for the bond ordinance.
The end run will be to bond it through the BCIA, which only takes 3 votes.
    The added cost doesn’t matter.
The no votes on the bond ordinance by 2 councilpersons doesn’t matter.
They want the parking deck and a doing anything in their power to get it.
They will say it’s because of the overwhelming yes vote on the NON-BINDING referendum.

  7. Yes Ridgewood Taxpayer your right and the best is the same voters that put them in office are now complaining about them

  8. Everybody check their Facebook posts from two weeks before the vote. Gwenn and Roberta were responding to voter concerns that were posted in the Ridgewood Moms and Dads group. Many residents reported email responses from them too.

They said that we were voting on A garage, not necessairly the one in the photo. Voters would have input. Everybody screenshot those assurances and post them here. We can have a contest and award a Pinocchio prize.

Al joined the group, made one inappropriate sarcastic remark, and then crawled back under hir rock.

  9. yes bergen county police would like to put in a hub station in the c b d. that is the talk on the road.0optrewq[‘ .’/

  10. Its not the Bergen Count Police anymore. The political boss at the county had to pay back the sheriff and his” turnkey jailers” for backing them in the last election. So now its the Police Bureau of the Sheriffs Dept.” All political appoints are welcome

  11. Why do things tend to go from very bad to Worse with this crew. Talk about Agendas and favors owed. Town Taxpayers always getting SHAFT

  12. that will be a new place to take a piss.

  13. Come on Wednesday. Speak up. Shout. Demand an end to this horrible plan.
