Bow Season For Deer Opens Saturday, October 29th

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, the Permit Bow Season opens Saturday, October 29, and if you have purchased your antlerless deer zone permit but haven’t yet purchased a buck permit for permit bow season, you have until 11:59 p.m. Saturday to do so. The buck permit will still be available with the initial purchase of an antlerless deer zone permit after the season opens.

The white-tailed deer population in New Jersey is out of balance, and is the cause of agricultural, ecological, and human health losses in the millions of dollars. The mounting costs posed by issues that include deer-related car accidents, crop losses, and Lyme disease should be of grave concern to all New Jersey residents.

All permit deer seasons have buck permit purchase deadlines as follows:

Permit Bow Season: October 29 at 11:59 p.m.
Permit Muzzleloader Season: November 28 at 11:59 p.m.
Permit Shotgun Season: December 14 at 11:59 p.m.

  1. How are they planning to make a REAL dent in the deer overpopulation? The current plan seems to be letting the deer get killed by traffic. Not very nice or humane.

    1. It’s NOT about facts, reality or even kindness.

It IS about image, virtue signaling and cow-towing to the radical (vocal and violent) fringes of the left.

  2. The white tail deer population is out of control? What about the out of control overdevelopment pushing them out of their habitats? Just a thought…….
