Edgewater NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of VICTOR S. RODRIGUEZ (DOB: 3/22/1988; single; unemployed) of 3529 Bruckner Boulevard, Apartment 4D, Bronx, NY on charges of Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon, Aggravated Assault, and Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose. The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Edgewater Police Department under the direction of Chief Donald Martin, Jr.
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, at approximately 7:39 a.m., the Edgewater Police Department received a 911 call from an unknown individual reporting that her friend had been stabbed at 644 Undercliff Avenue in Edgewater, NJ. The victim’s friends transported him to New York-Presbyterian Hospital prior to police arrival, where he remains in stable condition.
Edgewater Police were dispatched to 644 Undercliff Avenue, where they observed blood outside and inside the residence. They contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the resulting investigation revealed that VICTOR S. RODRIGUEZ had assaulted the victim.
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, VICTOR S. RODRIGUEZ was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Murder, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1a(1)/2C:11-3a(1), a 1st degree crime; one count of Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, a 3rd degree crime; one count of Aggravated Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(2), a 3rd degree crime; and one count of Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d, a 4th degree crime. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Edgewater Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
