Ridgewood NJ, fortunately no injuries were reported after a Ford SUV crashed front first through a chain link fence and rolled down an embankment before coming to a stop on a school baseball field in Ridgewood early Sunday afternoon, 04/05. Damage to the vehicle was light; the fence was destroyed. Fortunately, the mishap occurred several hundred feet away from a small group of children who were playing on the school grounds. Ridgewood Police Patrol Officer Colin Donnelly assisted the SUV’s adult female driver in getting her vehicle off the field and back into a nearby parking lot.

  1. There are cameras at Somerville…it would be cool to see what really happened….

  2. One does wonder how such an accident in the back parking lot of a closed school comes about? To the extent the car takes out the fence. Teen driving practice run amok? Was there for other purpose, got text that TP was back on the shelves at Stop & shop and made a break for it? Doing donuts in the parking lot to alleviate quarantine boredom? The possibilities are endless. The fence, sadly, is toast.

  3. Boyd, can you please stop documenting people’s misery

    .
If there was “light damage” and the vehicle “rolled” then this is shoddy reporting…
It must have “rolled” on its tires… NOT Rolled (over).
